  1. What seems to have made him the villain then tho was that he took all rossi s data, learned, got faster then put a wall up. He wasn't keen to share even tho Rossi put that bike where it was (along with burgess)

  2. You don't know that, nobody does because he's never cocked his leg over it. My bet is that he could. He's an exceptional rider. Pedrosa and Marquez ride it with success, Stoner did also, why not Lorenzo?

Cue your answer about the Yamaha being suited to his riding style of high corner speed and the Honda being a point and squirt type of motorcycle.

  3. You need to check the facts about the wall going up. That wasn't down to Lorenzo I'm afraid to tell you. As for the data, he's admitted to looking at it and then going his own way. Why wouldn't you come into a team as a rookie and look at the champion's data if you had the chance. He'd have been very cock sure of himself not to take the opportunity if you ask me, anybody would do the same. Their settings are very different today anyway.

  4. His actions contributed to the wall with Rossi sick of one way dev. Wall went up and Jlo seemed to struggle a bit for s short period...

Yep the Honda doesn't suit his style. Marquez and stoner always rode like that (post 125) and pedrosa took a while to adapt his style but seems there now certainly

For context, and for the utter dim, he can obviously ride it probably to a top 3 level but not in a way to beat the other Honda riders IMHO or Rossi

All subjective. It's not and never will happen.

And fur more context Marquez and stoner couldn't ride the yam to his level either ;)

  5. see the link in post 803.. they still share data except this time its loz that aint happy about it

  7. I like Lorenzo......never used to like Rossi but I've warmed to him quite a lot this last couple of years.

    It's Marquez I don't like.....he's a little shit

  8. Yeah I know that, all other teams do between riders. There is nothing sinister in this.

  9. So we agree that the wall wasn't down to Lorenzo.

As for saying who could ride what to what level, you don't know unless it happened for real. I seem to remember Rossi was going to be the saviour of Ducati and develop the bike as he had the Yamaha. What happened there?

So really, it's just for pub banter, nobody will know for sure unless they did it. You can argue about was Agostini, Doohan, Marquez fastest. You'll never know as it can't happen, but you may enjoy debating it.

I'm not so sure we couldn't see a switch at some point though. There are no barriers in the way to any of the top riders switching, apart from Rossi's hatred of Honda.

  10. the other one...

  11. Not sure it is hatred. He left Honda for Yamaha as Honda were of the opinion it was the bike getting the results and not Rossi. So Rossi went to Yamaha where Biaggi I think had managed a best of third the previous year, won first time out and won the championship aswell......

  12. Maybe not hatred, but a enough of a dislike to not want to be involved with them again. It won't happen at this stage in his career anyway.

  13. Nah you are probably right there....

  14. When viewed from the helicopter Brookes's view is accurate I think (I know)
    More from Brookes:
“VR’s race was already penalized by having to deal with MM. Points should be left. Race Direction shouldn’t be deciding the championship.”
“Yes VR intentionally ran wide to make a statement…but MM had more options than the one he chose to take.”
“MM could’ve turned back & got up the inside but he stayed outside & continued to push on VR, then fell onto him, that dragged VR’s leg off.”
“I think we need to focus on the real crime here. Why was VR a gentleman for so long? He should have grassed him a lot earlier.”

  18. His move to yamaha also had a lot to do with money,Rossi wanted to handle all Rossi merchandise himself and pocket all the money, but Honda wouldn't let him so that caused a lot of bad blood.
Biaggi actually had 2 wins, 4 2nd places and 3 3rd places on the Yamaha the year before rossi joined them, what i couldn't understand at the time was everybody saying how bad the Yamaha was and that Rossi was taking a huge risk moving from Honda, of course Max said the Yamaha was shit and the only reason Rossi was wining was because he was on the Honda, but shit bikes don't win races and end up on the podium 9 times!
