  2. Full service history (stamped), how do I go about this? I bought second hand and the garage the did the last service was the one I bought from. So the bike has no garage history with me. I've used Moto Rapido many times previously on other bikes and trust them but wouldn't want to put them out and possibly upset them.

There is blade ducati which is an official ducati garage in Reading.

    Just the 4th, no other.

Kind of gradual, I first heard it on Monday on the way to work. Thought it was a loose chain. Adjusted as it was slightly tight. Then today is when it was clear as day there is a much more in depth issue.

I had to go to London (around 100 mile round trip) and I had no option but to use the bike (my only mode of transport). And I can say the bike performs perfectly but when in 4th it's just a nasty knocking noise. It's as though the chain is slapping really fast. But looking at the chain, that's not the case.

No loss of power. Just really rough feedback when in 4th. Not nice. Feels like I'm chewing something up.

  4. no gear or pussy here :(

  5. After praising blade reading ducati initially when bike purchased I'm pleased to say I'd never use them again , get snells or moto rapido to look at it or just use 3rd and 5th

  6. I'm a bit confused what with cogs, gears, windmills and twat. Surely the front sprocket is a fixed point the gears, cogs, windmills and twats are variables which drive the final drive front sprocket. So even if 4th twat cog windmill is missing a tooth or two how will it affect the chain? Hang on, yep got it, it's the 'stutter' in the drive. Ok got it. Sounds fucked to me then. Get your push bike out.

  7. Still waiting for the video Freshage- Hurry up chap!

  8. Ah, will get them up tomorrow. Girlfriend emailed them to me. Got me riding by in 3rd and in 4th so you can hear the difference.

Thing is, if I go to Moto Rapido or snells and demand Ducati pick up the bill. I'm just going to make an enemy or be told where to shove it.

As blade are an official ducati garage they can dead with the bill and I don't care about fucking them over. They couldn't even spare 30 seconds to pop out front and listen to the bike idling.

  9. A run or group of gears in mesh are a gear train, a collection of gears on a shaft are a cluster, as in Cluster Fuck.

Shame you didn't like my ditty.

But then again, you are an engineer.

  10. Never been impressed with Blade Group's customer service, so like you I wouldn't be too fussed about souring relations with them once it was over. Been in there twice ready to buy over the years and walked away with the cash in my pocket both times - once because nobody could be bothered to show any interest, and once because despite phoning that morning to confirm, the bike was actually at another branch and "maybe they could get it here in a couple of weeks for me"

Perhaps consider a more measured approach with MR or Snells, it'll likely get you just as far if not further while keeping relations good. MR is probably the better bet if you have existing standing as a customer with them.

  11. I'm cack when it comes to things like this. I can haggle prices but I just don't know what to say when it comes to paying the bill time and I have to turn around and say "surely Ducati pay the bill? It's a non consumable, on a 'tank' ducati bike with just over 10k miles and 2.5 years old". They then turn around and say "nope, you pay now". Boom, I flake.

  12. Thing is you will have to pay to take the bike away, unless you sort out beforehand

  13. You can't demand Ducati pick up the bill. It doesn't work like that. You would need to have some agreement with Ducati about who pays for what before any work is started.

  14. Don't you need to know what's wrong, and why, before you start demanding, from anyone?

  15. just as a wee side thing, nobody can hold on to your bike. not up here anyway, you have to purse through the civil courts.

  16. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to upset MR? You say you 'trust' them. Why not seek an opinion from them, gently, gently. Sound them out, see what they have to say, negotiate etc.

  17. Ah, didn't think like that, I will go through Blade as they have an opening sooner and also just round the corner. Unlike Winchester which is many miles away.

I will speak to them now and get it booked in for next week.

Sorry I'm so fucking useless guys. Not much experience with shit going wrong like this lol...

  18. Perhaps go somewhere you do like - already have a good rapport with them - and have a sensible honest and calm conversation. They could well be helpful, and guide you as to what your options might be, after all, you are the customer. But be calm and constructive-ask them for their help. Perhaps, don't go in 'shouting the odds' as an opener.

  19. I'm going to stick with Blade, I will put it in for an assessment and then go from there, see what they say.
