  1. I thought there would be more to considering state of rockers

  2. Yes you would think eh:confused:. Nothing like the suspense of pulling the cams, it’s like four goes on a shitty lucky dip.

  3. Knew this was a possibility when I got the bike and it was still an attractive deal, even factoring rocker replacement ,it will stand me 1800ish not counting the 150 odd I spent on service parts which has to be done anyway.

  4. Happy days

  5. Me no rush

  6. I take it you have a 2nd bike

  7. Hoping to get some time this weekend and get the rockers in, fingers crossed shims will be a little on the tight side and can lap them down, what's the chance off that? Also think I have messed up the timing ,moved bike with it in gear, crank has done x number of revs ,no valve damage they're all shut at mo ,if I line crank mark up again I am thinking I could be 360 out is that right?

  8. Make sure you have the timing mark on the flywheel aligned with the mark/pointer through the inspection window AND the timing belt driveshaft pulley mark aligned with its mark on the crankcase cover at the same time. With the cam pulley marks lined up with the V marks on the vertical pot and the O marks on the horizontal pot. The horizontal piston will now be TDC on its compression stroke.

  9. Sorry I didn't really answer your question with the above did i ? so yes I think you could be 360 degrees out if you're just looking at the flywheel mark (remember also there are two marks). My understanding is the belt drive pulley mark will only line up at the same time as the correct flywheel mark on the correct rotation.

  10. Been at it all day rockers are in, clearances on most of the shims were tight with the new openers, 400 grit wet & dry and oil on a sheet of glass fixed them, got the rest build up enough, liquids in battery connected , where's the key ,found the fecker , turned her on heard the fuel pump prime it turned her off and back on pump go again and hit the starter button , fired up and is ticking over alright let it warm up and gave it some revs ,no drama thank feck:)
