I think Leeds Ducati are having a laugh. They just quoted £268 for an annual service and £410 for a valves service on an 899. Gave me some BS about every service being individual. At they prices it's almost economical to ride across the country and get it done elsewhere.
I negotiated a free service on mine thankfully. I remember a time when your first service was always free!
So in the end I paid £155 i don't mind that to much? the dealer I go to has improved over the last couple of years I get a small discount as I bought my bike from them.
Ducati Leeds are only good when they chuck in free collection over winter. Ring Ducati Manchester - their prices are good (especially if they think they're beating Leeds) and the old boy who comes to collect your bike is a true gent. Great service. Martin Bridgehouse, their snr sales mgr, is great too.
That 1299 service list doesn't say anything about chain adjustment? Mine needs this and it's having its 600 mile service this coming Thursday.
To be fair that's something you should check each time you ride same as tyres and oil etc. Should t wait for service time to check
I've checked it, hence I know it needs adjusting. Not going to do it myself if it's being serviced this Thursday.
1st annual done last year, 350 all in, did how ever cover the costs of new front tyre - supercorsa, loan bike fore a day
mine's going in Thursday to Aylsbury Ducati also for it's 600 mile service not sure how much tho I didn't ask.
I can get my local Ducati specialist to do the work at a fraction of the dealer costs and I would argue that with his 25 years plus of experience working on them, he does a better job. He only charges for what needs doing not what the book says. Moreover the work is stamped in the service booklet and it's never had any bearing on the resale value of past bikes I have owned. (Carl Harrison Motorycle Services - Welcome) With respect to chain tension, that really is something every owner can do themselves, it's not difficult. Neither for that matter is the oil and filter change.
My first 1000km (600 Mile) service at Ducati Aylesbury was: 1.6 hours @ £59.00 per hr £94.40 Oil Filter @ £14.74 Oil 3.5Ltr @ £26.95 Washer @ £5.10 VAT @ £28.24 Total Cost £169.43
ouch... when you break it down, £5.10 EX VAT for a sump washer... is it pre-soaked in a angels tears?
So. First service and akras fitted. Bike sounds like an earthquake. Also bought a comfort seat (not sure why it's called that as my arse ache was just as bad on the way back) and had a tank protector fitted for the sum of £41. Ouch. Got an ohlins steering damper fitted too which has made a HUGE improvement. Zero head shaking now at full throttle. Still £794 down and the bike feels amazing so I'm happy. Just had to tighten a few fairing screws with my gloved hand whilst riding down the M3 that were left loose. Otherwise all good Test rode the Xdiavel. That's an awesome bike. Seriously want one.
The difference between the initial service and the first annual service are minimal so the cost should be virtually the same. They have to clean the air filter and lubricate the levers and pedals. That said MotoRapido charged me 1.9 hours labour @£80ph for the initial service and £71 for a 4 litres of oil do it ain't gonna be cheap again.
