899 Servicing Question/advice

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Sam Chesterton, Feb 24, 2016.

  1. If I'd paid X for something my aim is to always get Y for the lowest amount possible ( without cutting corners).

An average is usually made up of highs and lows, nowt wrong with you being happy to pay average, but I will take low all day long..

    • Agree Agree x 1
  2. I will do as much as possible to keep the labour rate down, The bike will go in pretty much stripped so they wont spend hours just getting to the heads.

  3. yep mr c think the whole front end comes off.

  4. Ducati have issued standard labour times for the services. Parts are/should be the same money wherever you shop. Oil will vary depending on what's used, then there's the VAT.
Might be a bit more than 20 quid in parts and a half hour, but the big difference is labour rates and that seem to be pretty geographic.
Couple of hundred quid is around average.

  5. So is the 899 servicing about £200 for all of them apart from the 15k huge one?

  6. As far as I can make out! Think the 15k one seems to be fixed at an extra £330 in Glasgow Ducati above the norm...

  7. No, not entirely. The schedules pull in different ops based on time and mileage. Coolant, brake fluids, forks etc. are dictated by time or mileage. The 7500 Desmo/oil service is a bit more than the annual as it pulls in a few more inspections and possible parts.
The schedule is annual or 7500 miles, whichever comes up first. At that time, age etc. is taken into account and the service is done based on that.

  8. Ducati Manchester quoted £900 for the 15k!
