  1. meh, objectors. one troll and a few that are way too easily fooled (some might say happy to be if it backs up their own predjudice)
    .
if i mind right, in the movie "the watchmen" that fella is away to get his heed blown aff. which is kind of on topic as US servicemen were all speeding of their nuts during vietnam. apparently necking a quarter of a billion speed bomers during the conflict.
    .
Anyhoo. 20mph in a built up area, particularrily around schools and play areas sounds hunky dory to me.

  2. it was reported on BBC news that the “Plans for the 20mph limit follows a consultation exercise, which the council said showed strong support.”

Lesley Hinds, Edinburgh City Council’s transport convener, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the huge response to our consultation in the autumn and it’s great to be moving on to the stage of finalising exactly which streets will become 20mph, provided the necessary Traffic Regulation Orders are secured.

“Edinburgh is taking a very bold step in introducing slower speeds for so much of its roads and we’re aware that other cities in Scotland are watching our example keenly.

“Support for 20mph limits was already high before the pilot began but it increased even more once people tried out the slower speeds in practice.”

“Many other towns and cities across Scotland will no doubt be watching Edinburgh closely as implementation of the new 20mph network gets under way. Hopefully they will like what they see and learn from Edinburgh’s experience.”

  3. When will the horse and cart be reintroduced?

  4. horse farts are bad for the environment. as is chopping down trees to make the cart.
i think it's time we faced the facts. wurr fucked.

  5. Mainly during summer we have a horse and trap go past regularly. They manage 20 mph easily.. the braking for roundabouts looks hairy (npi) at times and the tail-back of cars is often long as unlike cyclists even 2 abreast, safe overtaking is almost impossible.

  6. Lots of horses about here. Got to be very careful on the wee Suzuki as hoses only get used to 2-strokes if they hear them regularly, which they mostly don't now. Same mix of people as any other group - some sensible and decent (like in the picture) and some just twats that think they own the world. I do wish they would clean up their shit though.

  7. Some horses have a shit bag/ collector. Shame they all don't when on the roads. least they could for the rest of us really.

  8. With a 130 million babies being born every year around the globe, perhap there lies the problem.

  9. I don’t get that one either. If a dog craps on the road the owner can get done, but a horse can leave a shed full and nothing is said about it.
After the cavalry have passed my house, you have to be careful and pick your step crossing the road

  10. Bag it up and stick on the flowerbeds lad

  12. Love the little signs thanking me for driving below the speed limit. I'm all about saving the planet and climate change, so I see anything like this as contributing to climate change.

  13. There’s no law against undertaking a slow car in the middle lane, but you can be done for dangerous driving if you just blast up though
