I actually thought it was a better event for bikes. The hill run is certainly a little easier for bikes to push a bit more and there was more room down in the paddock area, though whether they might have been due to less bikes going up the hill, i'm not sure. Nevertheless, it was a great event, great company there even though i went in on my own and it is a truly beautiful place.
@Duke of Stow - may I express my gratitude for your efforts on the day (and it must have been a very long day). They may go unrewarded, but I assure you they are not unappreciated. Peter.
Hi Pete thanks for your kind words. I was but one cog in the wheel that made the day a success. There was a dedicated team of volunteers there manning the car/bike parks, ticket gates, litter picking, setting up/tear down etc, plus the back room guys who have been working on this for 6 months to ensure an great day. Thanks due to the MAC marshals who'se calm administration of the "hill" beyond the paddock made. the runs go smoothly. Planning has already started for Prescott Bike Festival, 10th April 2016!
Never been, but need to as quite local... Nice set of bikes there Mr @scrawnsenior I think I'm going to be bike-less for the rest of the year; and pick up a winter bargain / project for next year. Would be keen to discuss a post season price for the least bent / thrashed / cheapest one of the three? Mates rates plus extra discount to take the truly gopping colour into account Don't need any road stuff as she will only go on the track... One to think about over a beer?? Cheers, Bob
Don't know what you are talking about bob, all of my bikes are one careful owner, never crashed or ridden in the rain machines Although I think the big 8 might scare you.....
Fyi I am selling my gixer (breaking it as make more that way) after riding that 899 at Silverstone....anothr track bike will be needed when the money comes in
Doubt I'll have that much funds, more likely a 675 or R6. Something that means I can go back to high corner speed and less throttle finess!! And more fun. Although I have seen a nice race rsv4....
@scrawnsenior Yep, the RC8 is too big for a novice like me; I'd settle for anyone of the little 900s... Murray's could be a good option; just in case I get the urge to cut my legs off !
Due to circumstances beyond our control PBF6 is now on the 17th April. Website is now live and 25 run the hill tickets sold in 24 hours, so book early to avoid disappointment.
This year's is on Sunday 4 September 2016. I have just booked a "Run The Hill" ticket. Hope to make it to this one, missed the Prescott event this year through ill health. Shelsley Walsh Bike Festival | Severn Freewheelers EVS | Bike Festivals @Duke of Stow
