Does the Ducati factory close down for holidays in August? If so surely that's going to delay the bike even longer, I've ordered a red Multisrada S with touring pack. I was told mid to late July with an early July build but have now been told late September, seriously thinking about cancelling the order as I don't ride in winter anymore. So might look at next march at this rate. I don't see the point in paying for a bike that's stuck in the garage from November to march. I used to ride all year round but age is creeping up on me....
Ring around a few dealers - there are bound to be some with bikes in progress 3 weeks Ago riders in Cardiff had one on the way - so did GT in Plymouth I am sure if you call you will find some. There is not that many UK dealers for Ductai - so 3 hours could save you 2 months wait.
Ducati have messed up tbh with there planned orders for the year I know the scrambler is out now, and only the dealers are getting what they have ordered for the rest of the year, I would not be surprised that the DVT is the same now or soon, Ducati have sold far more than they expected to, Dealers not too happy as thy have pretty well sold all their bikes for the year in 6 months regarding Scramblers and MS's Look for cancelled orders and White ones
There are quite a few scramblers around - half a dozen on ebay and there was 2 in dealer yesterday unsold Also had a non S multi there. So have to believe supply and demand are getting nearer.
I have to be honest I havnt pushed to hard as I really like the pikes, but having ridden the dvt it is quite a step forward ,and as the mileage and age of my trusty multi rises it makes sense to move forward having said that both multis I have owned have been bullit proof !! Both not needing any warranty work, with only minor things like ex valve etc needing fettling, repairs all within my capabilities .
Have phoned around and there are a few about. How do I go about getting my deposit back if I choose to buy from a different dealer?
This is exactly how my dealer described the process - he just attached my name to one of the bikes that he'd already pre-ordered.
I get the same thing; combined with circulation issues, it slowly makes my right hand numb. Good thing the cruise control is so easy to use; it lets me give that hand a break without having to pull over and stop.
Do the deal with the new dealer - then just call old dealer and ask for your money back - due to delay. I had a deposit back from 2 of them! - no issue.
Ordered mine in May, told I'd get it in June ready to run in for a trip in July, didn't happen. Now told delivery to be first week of August, I shan't hold my breath. I'm like you spannerman, I don't ride in winter anymore, the thought of all that salt eating my pride and joy away :Greedy: Anyway, now I'm starting to think, should I leave it (if it does come in) till the 1st September to register it, or leave it until next year ?
Ok... I've took action as I'm sick of waiting. Took your advice and phoned round a few dealers this morning. Ducati Manchester were more than helpful. And great news. I pick my brand new touring 'S' this Saturday. Thank you all for your great advice
Great news. Hurry up and get the 600 miles service done, so you can get some miles (or Kilometers) under your belt before summer ends.
