Would a non-North Londoner call Picketts Lock 'Ponders End'??.........I obviously did. So did you know Brimsdown as well?
Not strictly correct. Shot pistols, revolvers and slp's modified to take two round only in the cylinder or magazine can be possessed for humane despatch purposes. Long barrelled pistols similarly can be legally owned. You have to show need but they are not impossible to obtain.
For those that want to split hairs and be picky over what is permitted............ Luca said "handgun".................A humane killer or a flintlock pistol under the Firearms Law Guidance to Police document aren't really classified as a 'handgun'. Unless Luca is going to rapidly become a vet or own an abbatoir; he ain't going to get a humane killer...........however if he want's to dress up as a roundhead or cavalier, there are a myriad of vintage firearms he can use and own. Who mentioned humane killers? I was referring to modern handguns. I personally know 2 individuals who lawfully own S&W model 686's... Home Office Guidance to Police on Firearms Law is a useful reference point, but it is just that, guidance. It does not cover everything. Pistols like these Severnside Arms are available if you can show good reason. Once good reason has been shown, Section 5 ( 1968 Act ) firearms can be lawfully owned under Section 3 of the Firearms ( Amendment ) Act 1997.
Quoting you......"Shot pistols, revolvers and slp's modified to take two round only in the cylinder or magazine can be possessed for humane despatch purposes. Long barrelled pistols similarly can be legally owned. You have to show need but they are not impossible to obtain" 1) If that's not splitting hairs, I don't know what is 2) Really?....what? smooth bore under 24" I suppose? 3) Exactly...A vet or an abbatoir worker With your comprehension of the regs, I would like to see if you can legally obtain a 'handgun'.
