Short Gloves

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Roadtrip, Apr 23, 2021.

  1. I have a pair of Richa City Gore-Tex gloves, really comfy and warm. :upyeah:

  2. I agree with Glen, I also have the 4Stroke gloves. Very pleased with them. I find the padding on the palm as per your needs.
FYI, I also have the Steel Pro (in) glove and that is also very good. They are both short cuff, however the steel pro (in) is designed to go under the jacket. So the wrist area is a fabric material. And they are a bit more of a faff to put on. Put excellent glove nonetheless.
Ducati Glasgow have them on sale also if you like the look of em.

  3. If anyone is interested I have a pair of Dainese 4 Stroke gloves. in black, size large, in decent condition. According to the gf I have a glove fetish and need to trim down the collection. They're the earlier model. Lets say £65 posted to UK mainland address. 417A6922.jpg

  5. :joy: GF is more of the Marie Kondo mindset, her shoe collection is minimal, i have more MC boots let alone shoes than her... Imelda Marcos she ain't. She rolls her eyes at my hoarding but has given up trying to impose her minimalism on me so I haven't really got a leg to stand on. Also I do admit to having something of a problem with gloves in particular :D

  6. I’m lucky then as my Mrs has flipping loads of them, I’ve only 8 sets of gloves atm.

  7. i got mine a few years ago when their shop up north was launched. Sadly no more but the gloves are brilliant. i have long slender fingers though so may not suit more sturdily built finger types.

they are quite old tech by modern standards but the gpr6 gloves seem to have garnered a great reputation over the years with many pros wearing them if that makes a difference

pricier than most but then cheaper to buy them than a new hand or fingers etc i guess especially given how long nhs waiting lists are at the moment

  8. If the OP's still looking, how about BKS (Brain Sansom's BKS in Devon) gloves? If they are anything like BKS leathers, the quality will be second to none: BKS Leathers - gloves

  9. I had a pair of BKS like that and loved them. Used them until there was not much left of them. After 7 years of daily riding and they fell apart. I thought BKS had gone belly up?

  10. @Mac Confusingly, there are now two BKS brands

The original and best: BKS (Made-to-Measure) Ltd. The Devon-based company still makes ultra-top-end leathers, not to mention BKS gloves. If you have to ask, you can't afford the leathers ;) But the gloves start from around £130.

The sell-out: BKS by J&S. A shaggy motorcycle story ended with J&S Accessories buying the right to use the BKS name, which it uses to sell less spectacular kit. It's a sequel that's nowhere near the same league as the original!

  11. I tried a pair of them on the other week, nice gloves but couldn't get the little finger on my lefthand to fit, my finger was to long or glove to short :) Does the plastic bit in the palm dig in and ache as seen plenty this style the same as @Freerange_egg BKS pair.

Some nice options posted by all :upyeah:
I have been visiting a few bike shops and tried on what they have which is limited in most.

  12. While I haven't got Dainese gloves, I generally prefer gloves to have plastic palm sliders (ideally, two Knox scaphoid sliders per glove). Are Knox sliders comfier than the Dainese version? I have no clue, but I'm fussy about getting the right fit. I've found the plastic sliders unnoticeable, provided the gloves fit well. I guess there's no substitute for try-before-you-buy (or buy-lots-of-gloves-from-shops-that-offer-free-returns :)).
