I can't imagine going far with a low or no screen at any kind of speed. Don't you find it noisy as hell and make your arms like popeye?
Hi, After reading about the solution to the buffiting issue here, I've fitted a old ninja 650 screen that I had lying around to my dvt Will revert with result after I've had a test ride outside town
Its all relative to rider body length. I've heard that on the previous model the risers made a big difference as they positioned the bars and as a consequence the rider further back from the screen. It also reduced the gap between rider and pillion and less swirl behind so less pillion buffeting. I want the sport screen just for asethetics as my standard screen with the accessory spoiler made by touratech for the bike works for me and I use a Davida open face even now in the winter.
OK update on the ninja screen was able to test upto 90 KMPH and there is no buffeting the noise levels have improved but not gone completely I am a shade under 6 and the clean air seems like hitting the mid of my helmet if I rise up a couple of inches the noise goes away will check at higher cruising speeds and report soon cheers!

I have the beginnings of tinnitus from a lifetime of fun and idiocy, and any sort of buffeting really bothers me. I also went to a C3 Pro, for the quiet. For me to get clear air at my towering 5'5", I went even further and removed the entire assembly, then cut a screen to size and attached it directly to the front fairing. The only tricky part was re-mounting the instrument panel, as its original mounting point is on the windscreen assembly that's now gone. Wound up using some sheet metal I had lying around, holding up fine so far. The result is clear, quiet air for me, and my passenger, who is 5'7", said it was a huge improvement as well. It starts to get a little noisy at triple digit speeds, but that's fine too -- a reminder to keep the speed sane.
In my opinion LarryRox to much but that's your choice. If it works for you than that's fine, as long as you've not modified oe to fit and can refit for resale when or if needed. Personally, I'm only changing it cos it looks good visually. Can't say I'll have if fitted for trips away as may be worse, but I'll try it on a short run to the UK then I'll know for sure.
