Should I Be Worried About My New Battery

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Union8, Jan 31, 2024.

  1. Thank will try this a little later once I added more fuel just to be sure

  2. So added fresh fuel and tried nothing, now got the heater on the front to see if this makes a difference any idea what I could do next

  3. I think instead of the beast, I am changing the name to the bastard

  4. Simple cure for flooding is to find the fuel-pump fuse and take it out .
Then crank the engine a bit , and the pistons will pump "dry" air through the cylinders .

Much easier than removing plugs .... :upyeah:

  5. Thanks for the tip, so spoken to Ducati mechanic and he believe that it could be the MAF sensor to one of the cylinder that is stoping the bike from starting, but it’s going to the garage this morning and hopefully will be back on the road soon ideally for the weekend

  6. Could be old fuel fouling the plugs/water in the fuel. I put Briggs & Stratton Fuel Fit in the tank over winter, it is said to neutralise the ethanol in E10 and E5.

  7. Thanks the bike is now running the plugs were a mess, now looking at a custom map to make it run better

  8. Good to hear that you got it running. My M1000sie can be a bit reluctant to start, even though I have Exact Start cables and a new battery. Since I installed a Power Commander 3 with the map for open pipes, it doesn't like any amount of the fast idle setting, I have to start with it fully off and apply fast idle after it starts....I've just learned to live with it, although I'm sure a rolling road Dyno set up would improve it. It runs just fine once warmed up.
