Visited last year. If you didn't know, the small black squares on the ceiling are examples of how it was before they cleaned it. Must have been a amazing job uncovering that lot.
It was way back in 2001 when we visited and were hemmed in like sheep with other tourists and asked not to take photographs,but a friend did and he has two/or three shots (that had them rattled),What a mind bending excerise for any proper artistunlike the lot today.

The one in Verona is even more intact than the one in Rome and is regularly used for operas etc Endured a performance of Aida there a few years ago but the place is so huge that you couldn't see or hear the performers properly as there were no microphones or speakers.
