  10. Yes and I bet they laugh their heads off every time.

  11. Where the B3284 coming from Truro to Perranporth crosses the A30 on one side of the road the sign reads Perranporth 5 miles, and the first sign you see just after crossing the junction reads Perranporth 4 1/2 miles. As you say it is Cornwall

  12. Those big daft signs at the side of the motorway that say "this sign is not in use" - yes it is, telling you that it's not - it's lieing to you ! And Kev will back me up on this one, he must have seen it - the one on the A38 between Plymouth and Liskeard, where two lanes had been reduced to one ( Tideford, I think ) that said "Lane closed to improve traffic flow"... What ? ! ? ! Only in Cornwall...

  13. Ehhh... Kev, you're making me feel homesick... A mate of mine lives in Crapstone, by the way... There are two signs back to back at a junction just north of St Mellion - one points the way to Amytree, the other side of the same post is one pointing to Amy Tree, strange but true... Going back to Crapstone - There is a place up north wher my uncle used to live called Penistone - being northern we always pronounce it "penny-stun". I never thought anything of it until someone pointed out that it said "penis-tone"... Funny old world...

  14. And speaking of "up north" there is of course, in the village of Idle, the Idle Working Man's Club... also strange but true...

  15. I always chuckle when i pass through Burgh on Bain on the way to Cadwell. One of the lanes leading off the main road is called "Fanny Hands Lane"

  17. There's a set of roadworks on the A23 with a PITA speed limit, goes on for ages and it's been there for ages.

There's also a sign there saying, "Speed limit in place for safety reasons". Really? Safety reasons, you say? I wonder what all the speed limits in other places are for, then?
