Received 2 e-mails today, the first telling me I had a new Trackday account which led to all the registration stuff (what a bloody faff that was, couldn’t type my DOB, had to scroll back through 68 years of calendar ) and the second telling me to complete all the forms. No on-line video so guessing a physical briefing. I also see my fears are being realised, Silverstone circuit main gate opens a 7am, whilst the Heritage Pit and registration is half a mile away and you sit in a queue at the pit gate waiting for one of the “Silverstone Team” to tell you which garage you are in, opens at 7am and close at 8:15am. Andy
Cancel that, just re-read T&C’s and at some stage you have to do an on-line check-in. Even more reason not to meet a member of the Silverstone Team slowing access to a crawl. Andy
If anyone is looking for spaces for the silverstone Ducati Day, when I transferred mine over to a fellow ducati enthusiast, Lucy at SMC said she has a couple of spaces available. [email protected] / 0114 252 5454 said I’d pop a post up to see if anyone was still looking to jump on the date.
Android853sp, 2010, red, 1200 Multistrada frazzle, V4S DRR117, yellow V4 (maybe) R1stan, 988 +1, SS950 Hollywoodstig, V4 SP messes, 2013 Grey 1200 Multistrada Wasey - Panigale 959 Looking forward to it, was there few weeks ago and was only 1/2 full but this one sold out a long time ago
Silverstone wont open gates before 7, so first queue is there - second queue at pit entry to be checked in. I try and aim to arrive at about 7.20 and usually get straight through first queue and second queue not too bad There is loads of garage space so no need for the Snetterton pit race and space grab. The guys on the ground do a good job and try and keep things running - its when people forget their names or want to spend hours telling the check in people about there journey/day/weather it slows it down a bit
Anyone staying close to the track the night before? Currently looking for suitable hotel for the 8th.
Premier Inn behind the Green Man pub about a mile south of the Silverstone turn off the A43 heading northbound. They know it’s a sold out track day so not that cheap. Andy
I always stay at Homeside B & B, about a minute from the gate entrance, great option if you're not fussed about an in house bar, great rooms and excellent brekkie..
I would love to go to ah track day this year but won’t happen, I’ve ordered ah new panigale v4s but won’t receive it till middle o September never thought it would take that long but with the way of the microchips now for every vehicle and bike everyone is on the same boat I guess, gone are the days off waiting for couple o weeks really wanted to test the big bike out this year, don’t think there’s anymore Ducati track days after September?
Has anyone received an e-mail from Silverstone today saying you haven’t completed the forms ? The link in the e-mail I got doesn’t recognise my e-mail or password but when I log in through the main website, my account states confirmed. Everything looks kosher so not concerned about it being a scam just confused. Andy
Yeah don't worry about it if you've done the bits through the "account " I had this the other week too and I still got allocated the group, I think their new system needs a little work!
Got exactly the same email this morning. Very confusing as you say as I’d already completed the forms.
Me too, was going to ask. I got all the way through via the link to find everything had a green tick as I expected.
Finally got to the bottom of the Silverstone trackday web site issue, my phone was auto filling in the password for my Siverstone Ticket account instead of the password for my Silverstone Trackday account. I have no idea why I need two accounts but there we are. Once I got back in to the form, I found I’d neglected to tick a box. Don’t you just love internet forms …. no, not one bit, at all, ever Anyway, 3 sleeps to go Andy
Also, just this minute, received a final confirmation e-mail from Silverstone. Been allocated Group 2 although no garage allocation until arrival on the day. @harryscfc, my memory is struggling but I think Group 1 (the most experienced) go out first followed by Group 2 (some experience) followed by Group 3 (least experience). The decision will be based on what you put on the form but I think you can change group if you are out of your depth (as I was in the fast group at Donington last year) or the organisers think you need bumping up.
