Silverstone Moto Gp *no Spoilers*

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by RC1, May 29, 2023.

  1. Are these two on useless bikes and have no chance to perform well? They're regularly interviewed post race on Eurosport and it seems that "...it is what it is..." and a few shrugs is all they've got to say. No criticism implied.

  2. Whilst not ‘factory’ supported, I’d say the bike is more competitive than the results suggest. IMO, neither rider has enough experience to be consistently competitive at this level and if I’m going to be brutal, Josh Whatley is unlikely to be, he started far too late to develop the ability and lacks the mental strength which makes him a victim of his emotions. If I continue to be brutal, whilst I applaud the team’s aspirations to compete on an international stage, the management lacks experience and strength in depth. Andy

  3. Think that’s a bit harsh and don’t forget MLav put that team together at the very last second going into last season so literally zero time to test or prepare.

Ogden still managed to get 7 points finishes in their first year though (albeit retiring at nearly all the remaining rounds lol).

Also had a top 5 at the start of this season so I don’t think hes worth stick on the retirement pile just yet,

Whatley was 12 when he started but I think youre more on the money with him, he doesn’t look like hes progressing fast enough if at all.

He also looks far too tall and dare I say heavy for a m3 bike too.

  5. seating question

ive sat in woodcote B before and really liked the view onto luffield

whats the abbey b gstand like or shall i just get general admission which is roving access to Hamilton Straight B, Abbey A, The View, Becketts, Woodcote A, Stowe C, Village A

  6. Dont bother with Beckets its shit, the stand is miles away from the track and a freezing cold wind blows down your neck all day (and any other corner/stamd round that outer edges of the track - plus its a ballache to get to and not much by way of entertainment/merch stalls if thats your thing_.
Woodcote A or B for me every day as you get to see them come down Wellington Straight and round Luffield etc..entrance to the pits too and theres a big screen opposite.

  7. thanks but not sure that helps me!

the question is: do i go for abbey b at a discount to face vs general admission with roving access to the gstands mentioned above?

  8. Ha sorry i thought you had woodcote as an option, Abbey would be my choice given the selection as its easier to get to and from. Last year they did some kind of bmx freestyle championship round that way too (and lots of other bits), so a bit more entertainment round that way.
The roving is a complete PITA unless you take a push bike (as has been said before) and the viewing is hardcore to put it mildly (ie you might see a nice slide or two but you'll miss 98% of the rest of the lap) .

If i was you i would keep to the top/north side of this image

  9. Just stay away from Beckets ive never been so cold and bored at a bike meet ever lol.

  10. The sign posting is so shit anyway you'll probably end up walking round the whole fkn circuit anyway by the end of the day/weekend lol.

Enjoy though, such a great day last year.

  11. We have sat at the Woodcote B end of Woodcote A for several years and it’s a great view of the Dunlop straight, Brooklands, Luffield and up the old start line. There’s also 2 large screen TVs to choose from. Very windy and chilly, no matter what time of year but we take a blankie to keep our legs warm. We are in Abbey B this year, next door to the Ducati Fanstand, Abbey A. Andy

  16. What happened I missed the off

  17. End of the last session, highsided and got ejected out the front of the bike ... didn't look like much fun ...

  18. It's great to be watching the MotoGP again, after such a long break, and the action today was well the wait, looking forward to the SR tomorrow and of course, the main event on Sunday. :):motorcycleduc::motorcycleduc::motorcycleduc::motorcycleduc:

  19. I see that they now using the garages at The Wing. How did they suddenly become big-enough to accommodate all of the categories?

  20. Looks unsafe to me. Bikes weaving in a straight line.

Unless it stops raining, I can see the riders being reluctant to have a sprint race.
