It was coming onto the straight after the final corner, I think. The back came round on the gas and damn near spat him off. One of his final laps in qualifying. He was definitely over-egging it. It's clear that the bikes are more predictable now with the electronic trickery, but it doesn't make that much difference, in that to win races, you have to be on the edge. They always were and they still are - every corner is almost a crash. It's just that nowadays, the edge is further away. I don't think I can conceive how powerful the things are : it's my 999 with an extra 100 bhp and rather less weight. They must be monstrous. That's over 200 mph on the straights for Gods sake and then you have to outbrake the other loon in front of you. Brave stuff.
indeed and eloquently put. but maybe its just old fashioned me lol (still have a push button tv ya know and an oil-cloth on my kitchen table ) id just prefer riders brains in charge of everything. ideally if they are gonna persist with electronics there should be a control ecu for all.
When is Marquez going to stop ruining races? all he does is play follow the leader, then with 2 laps to go, bothers to do some racing. its a 20 odd lap race, not a 2 lap race. its boring. its a boring as someone clearing off into the distance. he paid the price in the end though. Well done Jorge for going all out, start to finish and taking a very well deserved win.
