Silverstone Tomorrow?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by quantuman, Jul 27, 2015.

  1. Ducati only track day is the best way to cut your track Spurs :upyeah:

  2. fair play mate, glad you enjoyed it, its addictive doing track days once you get used to it its becomes just fun rather than worrying about it, silverstone is quite daunting as its so big, try donnington or malloy next alot smaller but just as much fun, your be buying a track bike before long and spending a fortune on it!!:upyeah:

  3. Truth :(

  4. I think you may be right there lol! I will try and get myself booked on both DUK track days next year if I can and will deffo try and get some more under my belt this year. Doningoton isn't that far away from me so could be next on my hit list.

I think I was lined up next to you for the first afternoon sessions Cookster, i found the way they released everyone in that session made it a tad busy, but was still mint!

  5. yeah it was busy mate, was that the session where it took ages for us to go out??

  6. CSS and how they do things generally make things busy...

  7. Yea it was, asked everyone to line up 15-20 mins before the sessions and then let a line of people go when it started.

The 4th and 5th session they were doing two and a time, gap then another two which allowed a bit more space on track I thought.

  8. Any more pics guys ? ...either on track or paddock ?

  9. Picman has some up. Usual boring static shots on the same corner over and over

  10. How do I view them Bradders ?

  11. Picman has posted a lot of different shots. some in the Paddock and lots from various corners etc

  12. Anyone know why the last red session the start straight was under yellow warnings? I know there was a guy just sitting on his bike at left side (off the track) looked like an instructor just policing people going past but wasn't sure? Anything happen there?

  13. Instructor broke down/ran out of fuel and pushed the bike to the side

  14. Not as bad as the plonker in the green session on the green bike who stopped at the exit of the hairpin and just sat there waving peolpe past, rather than simply push his bike off...meant a red flag and at least 5 mins of the session lost! In the novice ok, but this was the fast group

  15. His front brakes jammed on so I heard, I was in the garage with the jhp lads and he pushed it back into the pits, not happy so made a quick exit.

  16. Yeah I thought it was a bit daft initially, the green paint too :Vomit:, but then I thought to myself there must be a reason for it. Same as the guy in the early green session who stopped and put his bike on the stand at Brooklands. I spoke to him afterwards and he couldn't move the thing as the clutch had seized up solid against the basket so no option but to wait for recovery. All sorted in the end though and no-one got hurt.

Re-frame is the term I believe, I find myself doing it more and more since photographing a motivational event.

  17. I just couldnt imagine a circumstance where. On lap 1, someones bike expired to the point they couldnt push it 30 yards. Brakes must have been porper guff if they seized after 2 min of use after an hour of non use

  18. something about the pin fell out of the master cylinder and jammed the lever!! or something like that matey :Wideyed:

  19. Yea it was something like that, I was trying to hover round when it came back in. Did you find that the JHP boys only did a few laps in each of their sessions, it didnt seem like they were out much.
