Johnny Sexton had a bad day which didn't help matters for the team go forward morale boost, but the better team won on the day, better luck next time out.
How Irish no5 was t at least carded for some of his clear outs is amazing. Never mind all his other off the ball shit
The South African referee failed in my opinion to deal with the very poor player discipline in both teams. The punching incident and at least one head butt should have been carded. It was supposed to be his 50th international, very disappointing. Andy
I missed seeing the match but in the pre match radio interview E Jones called the ref the best ref in the world. I thought that was our Nige??
Why he didn't go to the video ref for that body check after the kick is a mystery. Generally thought referring was poor. And no consistency towards high tackles where the arm slips up or the no-arm tackle where they clearly weren't attempting the wrap-around (rather than reach-around. Different ball game.)
I don't recall him,but i've been watching rugby since the 1980's and he was around at that time according to google, but i only paid attention to the game/players back then.
He was a character, Clive. To be fair, Bevan was probably a better ref but Norling had the manner of a headmaster mixed in with a bank manager. Used to make me laugh. Agree re Barnes.
Well, tomorrow is a big day. England v Wales at HQ. And I, my friends, have a ticket. Despite the overwhelming desire to stay inside and not risk the virus ridden throngs, I have made a very difficult decision. Shock horror - I am going. My little bro lives a few hundred yards from the stadium so I will be staying overnight with him and his family. One of my other brothers is also coming. This is a concern, as he is often mistaken as Chinese - we keep threatening a DNA test but he makes such a delicious crispy duck we would rather he remains within our family. If I am able to function in any way through the day I will post up some pics as I certainly will not be writing anything. Oh, and COME ON WALES.
Yes, Sketty Park. When I left Swansea I was in Rhondda Street in Mount Pleasant (hence the Twin Towns theme in the avatar - one street away from a BMW two tone 525i)
