(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Cream_Revenge, Nov 15, 2018.

  1. Picked my 900SL up from Baines racing. Its never ran this good, I'm super happy. Had a quick 20 miles around the Silverstone area before putting it in the van and driving home. A good 65 miles out tonight on it and all is good. Hoping to have a good day out on it tomorrow.

  6. Enjoyed the last half minute - 'defining twisties'.

nb: the rest was good too!

  7. Pulled the front end off the bike ready to install the FGRT 214 Ohlins forks hopefully next week. (After a long 4 month wait).
Gave the badly pitted front brake banjos a quick going over as they were manky. 2 minute job with the Dremel and autosol. Next on the list is to chop off the Lambda sensor plugs and all the rest of the unsightly Euro bollox cables.

  11. Pipe looks good

  12. Home alone, so swapped the clear screen from the 600ss to the SL as not a fan of the dark tinted one. Have a clear one on order.

  15. Pending sale on FB of an old Arai Chaser lid so thought I’d better give it a clean, liners not removable so sponge cleaned it with a mild shampoo, ugh it was pretty manky but has come up well.
Personally I would never buy a secondhand lid but each to their own.

the design was a favourite but it hasn’t been worn for 5yrs and I’ve another on the way so my Shoei will become my back up lid so while I was at it I removed the lining on that one and washed that too.

  17. Started to push the bearings out of the Mito's suspension linkages and I managed to break my very old vice.

Frustrating as that is, it's not as frustrating as it was to discover that the bearings I'd bought having been told that they were the correct size by people who say that they know everything about Mito's, were in fact the wrong size (the ones I had bought were £4 each, the ones I need are £10 each...) so it's in even more bits than before while waiting for new bearings to turn up.
