Ridden with the new Akrapovic end can. With all this Euro 4/5/6 whatever next b@llocks, we're never going to have the sounds we once did, but happy to find the Akra does have a nicer burble than stock and tries its little best to feedback the odd pop and bang, especially on the downshift. Bought it for the look to be completely honest, so really happy all round.
It was lovely. Had a nice ride back, then got all my gear ready for tomorrow’s run to the Italian festival in Lancaster. Are you going @Carr01 ?
No…..Lancaster https://visitlancaster.org.uk/whats-on/lancaster-festa-italia/ https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/lancaster-festa-italia-29th-may-22-tomorrow.91527/
The joys of owning a Ducati, got home after a 30 mile ride. switched off and 5 minutes later no start of the 996. Kinda happy it stopped working at my front door. Pump primes, no clicking on solenoid whatsoever with a 4 weeks old battery ... Not gonna ask for advice, enough info already here. (relay, white cable on solenoid, bridge solenoid connectors, side stand switch, etc, etc...) Getting the multimeter out...should be fixed tomorrow.
... FCK.. 2 hours later.. starts like new... so no use for a Multimeter since I can't diagnose it when the problem is gone..... Like being at the dentist with a toothache, gone....all of a sudden once you are in the waiting room. I guess it must be a temperature related problem since the bike has cooled down... open to suggestions.... THANKS!
A leather medal! next up : Aluminium , copper, stainless , bronze , silver, gold, platinum , keep up the good work!
Took the Laverda for it's MoT. All good apart from an advisory on thin rear break pads. Ready for Bideford bike show tomorrow...
Got up, had a dump, base layers on, went into garage, opened door, stepped out, got wet, back to bed.
Gave the bike its first what I call proper clean yesterday since I got it (and not the dealers sheep dip in ACF50 strategy) and tackled the spoked wheels this morning, they look great but urrghhh there’s a lot to be said for alloys
Great day out. Especially the ride home. 177 miles all in today. My old v2 at the front (now owned by our friend Glen) my Bayliss in the middle, and @bettes 959/1299 in yellow at the back The Bayliss is now ready for its first service
