  1. Found this shitefest under Hermann's tank but still didn't find the source of the misfire:( Anyone got a BMW diagnostic gadget...?

  4. Fitted a new front mudguard to the SF. Had a few glasses of wine beforehand, so will check in the morning to make sure I did it properly!

  5. Found an allegedly unused Maxton shocker for my VFR for the the price of refurbing the sad & rusty looking OEM Showa. FB viffer Nc30 pages are pretty useful!

Cleaned up & resprayed various brackets for fairings, brake cables etc, and also tarted up the disc centres as someone had previously painted them grey, using a cactus for a brush.

  8. It may not, mine had still passed it’s MOT but very much not safe. The residual braking as BMW describe is something akin to rim brakes in the wet.

Hopefully not during a ride as happened to a RT rider 2 up loaded with luggage coming off a motorway……

A few clips on bypassing the abs pump on YouTube should the need arise.

  9. It’s a known common fault, why haven’t BMW been penalised for it ?

  10. No idea, had it been a car of any maker it would be recalled on the obvious safety grounds. Interesting too it’ll pass a MOT brake test, might be judged sufficient braking remains should the pump fail. Having ridden my RT with the pump faulty I’ll state the brakes are not sufficient.o_O

  11. Removed wheel and forks from red 749R - ready to take to Steve Jordan for overhaul.
Removed front wheel from black 749R - ready to take to get a new SC1 fitted.
What a pollaver when one only has one under fork front stand - blocks of timber are my friend in this case.

  14. Played with a new, analogue tyre pressure gauge I treated myself to shopping on Saturday. Checked the pressure reading against an electronic gauge and it’s spot on in the range I need. Might seem a little old fashioned but this gauge comes with a 90 degree adaptor, a deflation button and you can inflate the tyre whilst the gauge is still fitted and it has that nice, heavy feel of machined, solid brass. 15. Read half my Bike magazine :)

  16. Fitted new ‘foot’ to the prop stand on the Multistrada. The last one departed somewhere.
    This time I used threadlock.

Fitted an Oberon clutch slave cylinder, reverse bled it because air rises. Adjusted the rear brake to reduce travel.

Need to test ride it when I can. Not holding out too much hope for the back brake, even though I’ve uprated the disc and pads. We’ll see.
