  3. Seeing as I’ve saved some cash through lockdown (beer at home is much cheaper than beer at the pub) bought myself a nice little ramp to work on

  8. Walked the dogs and while doing that bought a nice rear paddock stand from a guy down the road who was cleaning out his garage. Right place at the right time.

  10. Updated my whiteboard to show maintenance due and added a list of things to do ...

3 bikes need oil/filters/belts and new brake fluid before next season.
Also got 3 chains to fit.
Plenty to do over the winter.

Had to come in for a sit down.

  12. No pictures but my BikeTrac alerted me this morning, via text, that my battery was getting low. Recent move and garage with no power (better than outside as it was previously). Two months it's taken for alarm and tracker to get to that state which isn't too bad. However, spurned on by this I've installed my Optimate solar charger this afternoon. Despite murky day battery went from red to amber, on the controller, in less than an hour. Will check later tomorrow and will, all being well, be back to green and maintenance state.

Had previously ordered a bracket from eBay to angle the panel towards the sun, garage has flat roof. I guess bracket was designed for seriously big panels rather than the diminutive Optimate one, serious overkill and it's rawl-bolted to a paving slab for security and wind anchoring.

Happy with result. Hopefully the neighbours, who overlook the garage, won't complain.

Well after several days of small jobs with a bit, well a lot of help from a good mate it’s now up and running. Small leak from the thermostat so that will be another small job to do sometime.

  14. Got called out a couple of times in the night so rather than try and go back to bed, I’ve put my BM on the ramp and started cleaning it ready for it’s ACF50.

I’ve wrapped the disks in cling film to prevent the ACF getting on them.

  16. I've just spent this morning blasting the scrambler with ACF50 and wiped it down once.

Its gleaming like it's just come out of the showroom (better actually) but I'll give it another wipe over later to wipe any excess that I've missed.

I have to say it looks fantastic considering it looked like I'd ridden through a desert and a swamp on Monday:p

  17. Are they genuine "sharkskin" carbon tubes as the termi originals, it so please let me know where you sourced them, I cracked one of my termi low level cans...boo hoo.

    Cheers

  19. Cylinders or bikes?

  20. Dropped the oil on my Hyper as I've owned it a year (from 2600mls) and it's approaching 5000mls. At this mileage I'd expect this to be the first oil change since the run-in one at ~600, so I was unpleasantly surprised to have trouble undoing the drain plug. I soaked the thread with release oil and to-and-fro'd it until it came out clean. There was no Aluminium 'gasket' - instead some sort of brittle sealant. This must have been done by a dealer at 600mls, so WTF? The ally 'gasket' is a 26p part FFS!
Oh well, at least the filter wasn't done up gorilla tight - just about right I'd say. Phew.

Oh and quick, free delivery of Motul 7100 15/40 from Opie Oils:upyeah: and fortunately only one small dink in the filter - posted out in a thin Jiffy bag. Duh!
