  3. Got my leather trousers today, they’re too big, so are going back. And the dealer said they won’t have my size until next year!:astonished:

  4. Eat more pies?

  5. I've stayed in zell am see before on a trip. When we got to the top of the grossglockner you could just about see your hand in front of your face due to cloud and fog. I could of been bloody anywhere! Sill a great trip though and must go back at some point.

  6. Day 7 - Zell am see to Hiedelburgh, 320 miles,..not a great deal to report today, just the realisation that your trip is almost over and your making your way north again :( ..
A German friend of ours had joined us in Zell am see for part of the ride back..
Bugger!..sorry folks but the Wi-Fi in this hotel is so crap it won’t even upload my photos : unamused: !
Basically it’s not been a great day to be on the bike, half the ride the rain was coming down like stair rods !
Most of the ride was just motorway anyhow and we hit so many traffic jams and accidents we’ve filtered for bloody miles
Hotel in Hiedelburgh leaves a lot to be desired,… like decent Wi-Fi for a start,
So tomorrow just looks another long motorway slap in the rain back to Rotterdam, we’ll see how we get on?

Just as a footnote, last night in the hotel in Zell am see , you would not believe the amount of locals that came and spoke to us and told us how sorry they were to hear about the Queen passing away :worried: that’s a measure of her reach around the world and how respected she was, I read somewhere once that she was the most famous and most photographed person in the world, totally irreplaceable imo, she was the epitome of Great Britain all around the world, she never put a foot wrong throughout all her reign and always conducted herself with huge dignity and grace, all I can say is that she will be a huge loss to our country and things will never be quite the same again without her, God bless

  7. Paypal or your CC will probably revoke payment if you have pics.

  8. I have pictures of what I received, the problem is the return. The seller was already on the attack and said the seat was perfect when sent. It wasnt and I proved it. The seller stated (after I caught him in a lie about the rip) that I return and any damage I’ve done will be inspected! I refused to send the seat back because the seller would obviously say I’ve damaged the seat and lie just to get out of it !
Anyway I’m not using eBay anymore after 19 years.

  9. Your choice of course, but you have a great chance to get this resolved via CC/ Paypal -especially if you caught him in a lie that is in an email?

There's a reason we all have used ebay for aeons apart from that sometimes its the only place to find what you are looking for. Don't let this w*nker spoil that for you.

  10. Yes the transcript of him lying was emailed to me in the final decision from eBay but I cannot , after years of shite off eBay (in broken English) be bothered to fight it . I’m right I know I am but f##k them .

  11. Day 8 - Heidelberg to Rotterdam, another 300 miles plus “rain dance”, then ferry trip to Hull and back home now.

First a couple of pics I couldn’t upload the other night..
I mentioned a German friend had joined us in Heidelberg, that’s his KTM second in the row of bikes

He’s a pretty quick rider and his mirror sticker is not far wrong..

:joy::joy:..Who says the Germans don’t have a sense of humour :D …he was in tears one night when I was explaining what a “ rug-muncher” was :astonished: !

The torrential rain had me resorting to desperate measures to dry kit out in the Heidelberg hotel..

Worked a treat that did :upyeah:
Full wet weather gear for a horrible ride back up to Rotterdam then, I bought this Rev’it waterproof collar thing ages ago and it fits over the neck of your jacket and stops the rain trickling down your neck, brilliant bit of kit, kept me warm, dry and cut a fair bit of wind noise down as well …

Boarded the ferry pretty quickly for a change and once we were on the boat the sun popped out again..

My attempt at jazzing up the ferry food..

A slice of beef and a potato rosti balancing a gravy filled Yorkshire pud :joy: can you tell I was bored ?

Off the ferry this morning and a decent run back through Malton and home via the Helmsley TT:upyeah:
Bike is absolutely filthy, take me days to get it clean again, but that’s what I bought it for, not to be too precious with it and for doing big trips.
Good time away overall, great to see the Timmelsjoch and Grossglockner, dead impressive and also Austria, lovely place, definitely want to get back and see more of it.
2,156 miles in total, slightly less than expected as we took more direct routes on the wet days, 53 hours 44 minutes riding time and somehow the bike tells me it averaged 58.1 mpg overall, but I think it’s a bloody liar ?
Great trip, …I think my mate ( who’s a man of few words) summed it up best in a text to his Wife….

“ Back on ferry,.. nobody died” :joy::joy:!

  13. Decided that was it for this season and tucked the GSXR away. Carbs drained, tank drained and oily mixture of petrol/engine oil sloshed around the tank, battery charged and disconnected. That’s it till April next year I rekon.

Only did 165miles since April which is shameful, usually do around 1k on it a season but hey ho 9ACB68C2-C0E4-4CD8-84EB-7F6F8798ACED.jpeg

  15. Diavel sale finalised, and after my accident last year and my mate almost losing his life a few weeks ago, I’m sacking in the road riding.
Will focus my efforts on finishing my radical 749 and tracking it next year.

  17. Had problems on my Aprilia RSV 1000, neutral was hard to find while the engine was running. The clutch lever was suspicously wobbly. After removal it was obvious, the diametre of the hole changed from 8mm to 11mm, it was installed since ~2008 and lasted 60 thousand kilometres. In the pic you can see the old vs. the new lever. The old one will be repaired with a brass insert.
