Fitted my old tank bag to the new bike. Also ran in the phone charging cable from the USB under the seat.
Oh... and a speeding ticket...but they were very good about it... writing down less than 50km/h over... and considering I was over the limit for 3 days I think it's a small price to pay
Fitted brackets back on tank and a bit of home engineering to solve the trailer tie down problems on the pani. I think it’s an old tank bracket from 916, little sorting on the holes to make fit
Fitted the newly reupholstered seat to the Hyper, along with a skid plate, which will hopefully protect the underneath of the engine from stone chips.
Went down to Steve Jordan at Bookham for a suspension set up on the Multistrada. Possibly the best, and worst, 85 quid I've spent on it; best because I rode home on a completely different & vastly improved bike and consequently enjoyed it far more; worst, because you start thinking "if he can do that with bog standard suspension, what could he do if I bought some aftermarket stuff..." Mrs GG is not impressed with that thought Excellent job, highly recommended, thanks Steve
Was going to take the 950S to work yesterday, but ended up diverting after spotting visible cords on my rear tyre! It seemed to go from ok to knackered almost digitally. That’s better!…
Fitted new map sensors to the 899, it was only the front cylinder sensor that failed but changed both. Funnily enough that was the same cylinder that the o2 sensor just failed on.
Bought a new crash helmet (Bell 2022 Street Qualifier STD): Not the most expensive but brilliantly comfortable and quiet. Oh, and went out for a ride to the Plough at Lower Beeding, near Horsham, for the 'Coffee and Bikes' saturday morning meeting. Lovely ride, great people and a good day out.
Made up a bracket to hold the after market side stand switch on the Darmah. The first attempt often used to light even when the stand was up & I reckon it was because it spun around the main stand bolt it was mounted on especially when knocking it off the stand. So MK2 has a small lip that rests against the side stand plate hopefully to stop it spinning. Just need a dob of paint.
Had a trip up to York this morning, to pick up some new (to me) wheels for my car, dropped the bike trailer off at my parents house on the way up, picked it up again on the way back down, and loaded these two on it to bring home
