Fitted the Noco lithium NLP5 warranty replacement battery to my 916 after the original one died for some reason during its winter slumbers . Started on the button . It appears Noco don’t ask for the old one back if your in UK/ Europe as shipping individual lithium batteries to home base is problematic/not cost effective so they ask you to erase most of the S/N and send a pic as evidence from which they arrange shipping of a new battery if your original is in the 5 year warranty window & you have purchase receipt. They ask you dispose of the old battery through local channels which is a shame as I think a new BMS could fix the old one :/ .
Looking at routes from Bilbao airport to our hotel in Entrena near Logroño. Some specular routes through the hills and alongside huge lakes for the run down but a more direct route for the run back because it’ll be late afternoon/early evening before we get away from the track. Andy
Well it only bloody worked, no more pulsing at the lever, got blown all over the bloody road though so came home and had a cup of tea
Bit of a productive day on the Royal Enfield project, been cleaning up some parts ready for painting, even got a couple of coats of paint on some of them Yes, I know, that's the WASHING line
Looks like I won’t be rebuilding my clutch/putting my 1098R back together tomorrow as I need to go to work…. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68749072
Ooops, I did see that and thought "numpty" but I think it's more common than the public know. Don't work too hard Andy
Not today but yesterday, attended a Bikesafe course with the West Mercia force. Excellent day and only £65. Well worth it enjoyed it. I’ll probably look into IAM or similar now
Created routes for our Spain trip in MyRoute App (free version), copied the routes into Basecamp and optimised, copied the GPX files onto the PC and transferred these files to my Zumo XT2. Bit of a faff but I’ll be buggered if I’m paying for MRA and it’s no more of a faff than Garmin Tread. Andy
Well, the good news is that it passed! Now all the documents have to be submitted to the Traffic Authorities and then the ST is finally Spanish. Whilst I was there, a guy arrived on a UK plated Big Dog Harley chop type thing. He was there for the same reason as I was, trying to get it changed over to Spanish plates but I don't think he was going to have a good day as none of his lamps or mirrors were E marked, the front tyre was over 15 years old, there were spikes sticking out from the footrests, forks, wheels, etc and it sounded like it was on open pipes Nice bike, albeit not my thing, but I think he was going to see how badly it failed and then decide if it was financially worth putting the work in to complete importing it. Had a good run back from the test centre - only 22C so not too hot
Put the 748 project bike back together with new plugs, air filters, fuel pump etc etc. Primed it. Fuel everywhere. Changed qr o rings. Hit the starter on a jump pack. Started first time. RESULT!!
Got lot of irons in the fire at the moment... 1. Fitted fuzebox to the Hyper sunday. 2. Fitted rearsets to the z1000 last night...on the whole successful but a couple of tweaks incoming (waiting for parts) 3. Put an offer in on ebay for a 2018 swingarm for my 2009 RSV4 factory...the 2018 model has a 2" longer swingarm for more stability...its a bit tatty so itll be getting the cerakote treatment (thought id mix it up a bit) 4. Straighter handlebars for dads 400/4 turned up yesterday so thats a sunday job. 5. My mate isnt as mechanically minded as me so hes ordered a full set of samco hoses for his RSV1000R so ill be fitting those in the very near future. Contracted in for bricklaying on saturday first though.....gotta build that greenhouse!! Edit: Swingarm offer accepted....90 quid - not bad - last time i looked a couple of years back they were 200 odd quid each...and this one doesnt have any dents either... Which was nice...
