Tackled this, having spent the weekend riding around Somerset and north Devon. 500 miles of accumulated crap Andy
Watched it get wheeled into the back of a van for the annual service. Seeing as a Saturday service booking is impossible to get (unless you book months in advance), it made more sense to get it done mid week.
Don’t know whether to or that. Had 3 nights away with friends, pub Friday, Indian Saturday and cooked a meal in the B&B on Sunday. Even managed to finish a 32 pint barrel of Exmoor Ale A bike needs to be ridden, if the weather isn’t brilliant, suck it up and ride Andy
Put the big numberplate, reflector and baffles in the 1098R ready for MOT tomorrow. Haven't ridden it for over 2 years so slightly trepidacious about the 1.5mile ride to the MOT station.
For the first time since I was a bloody teenager, one of my bikes failed an MOT! Was it because it had dangerous brakes, suspension, tyres, chassis, indicators, headlights or even a noisy exhaust?? No…it did not have a number plate light! This apparently is a new testable requirement introduced since I last had it tested. Gutted.
After doing the garden first thing I went out on the bike for a few hours taking in Saltburn, Staithes, Sandsend Whitby, Guisborough and Stokesley on the way. About 110 miles all in. Also wore my new Knox Urbane mesh jacket as the weather was beautiful. It was really comfortable on the bike too......well impressed with it
It gets worse.... I noticed when I got back from MOT of shame that the temp gauge was 110deg. MOT garage is less than a mile away and I never got above 30mph. Looked at coolant level... completely empty. Looked at oil sight glass.. Appeared misty. Got a syringe and sucked 200ml out - nasty green emulsion. Brilliant.
Paid for my recent acquisition, and booked the collection for Saturday morning Anyone recommend a decent place for breakfast near Yateley?
