  1. No air con?

  2. Yep, but deconstructed, served with bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, hash browns, baked beans and as much toast as you can eat!

  5. Mind 60 years of no fails is a very good record to have had.
I had always believed the number plate light was/is a thing. Everyday really is a school day.

  6. Yes, but, only when the engine is running, NOT good for sleeping in this heat

  7. Is that the Pathfinder Cafe on the airport?

  8. Not good at all, I hate driving my non air on van in this heat as it makes me sleepy. Often have to pull over and have a nap as I’ve learnt from experience how easy it is for me to just dose off when driving.

  9. "one of those days" is an understatement. : unamused:
Hope the fix goes quickly and smoothly.
Just a guess but hopefully waterpump seal only:-

  10. That was where my mind was going too.
    Thanks for the link!

  11. Couple of thoughts…
Is there a simple way to tell whether coolant in the oil is a head gasket issue or water pump seal?

Although I only ran the bike for a mile or two, it appeared to be running fine.
As said, no liquid evident in cooling system (will confirm when I remove coolant drain plug).
Yucky green emulsion instead of oil in sump.

A couple of years ago I put on a second hand alternator case assembly - I did not change the pump seal so do not know how old it was etc.

  12. no simply way R, Will PM you, now you mention the crank case cap, it is another pointer in that direction isn't it? They don't like standing dry for a long time, and your replacement must've done for awhile.

  13. I think you could possibly drain both fluids, refill and it might settle if it is a water pump seal, but it is potentially a time consuming and fluid wasting experiment. do you still have the spare water pump? Can't remember if it was damaged

  14. I didn't know they'd gone. When did that happen? Nice people, always had a soft spot for them.

  15. They're optional.

  16. Yep, that's the one. I knew it had a proper name!

  17. I usually give mine to my lad when we’re out if I can’t have fried bread.

  18. Had my bike delivered back this afternoon after its service, new front tyre, and some bling fitted.

  20. Removed the old hugger off the 916 and fitted the standard chain guard and carbon swingarm cover @bettes provided. Chain runner disintegrated when I undid the bolts, so another call to jhp tomorrowo_O. IMG_6988.jpeg
