(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Cream_Revenge, Nov 15, 2018.

  1. Been chasing a coolant issue on the 996 for the last few days (issue been going on for longer than that), decided to road test it, instead of idling it, had a decent 20 to 25 mile ride, up and down the same road a few times, didn't want to go too far from home, just in case

Road test threw up some interesting reading, now, I'm even more confused :relieved:

  2. Worked on my lads 125 now I finally made time to look at it. Put new piston and rings in, put cylinder on checked squish which was bang on.
Put everything back on to start it, issue remains that it runs rough. Swapped the ECU from a different bike so it’s not that. Cleaned the carb out yet again, I think I’ll just set fire to it…….

  3. Fitted some "Carlos Fandango" ventilated pistons to my track panigale

  6. The weather forecast at 7am said no rain. The weather forecast at 9am said no rain. Met my associate for an observed ride at 10am and it pissed down  Full marks to my associate who toughed it out and had a very decent ride and full marks to the brand new, no miles Metzeler M7RR’s that didn’t give one moment. The ancient golfing waterproofs however did less well and I ended up with a wet arse and a boot full of water  :joy: Andy

  7. I have just got back from a round trip to Seaford on the south coast. Just like you I got soaked in my old golf “waterproofs”. I hate wearing waterproofs at the best of times.

  8. I share your sentiment regarding riding in waterproofs, as my daily commute is by motorcycle, it's unavoidable. Sometimes I do ask myself why I do this... :joy:

  9. Put a new battery in the Multistrada, it’s been tired for a while. In preparation for the ride out I’m going on this weekend. It’s down in Devon in memory of my oldest friend who died of cancer earlier in the year. All proceeds to charity.

If anyone is down Exeter way it starts 10.30 Saturday at the BMW rider training school in Exeter, as he used to be an instructor there.

  10. 154 miles before the low fuel light came on. Potentially, just under 200 miles range on mixed roads and mixed throttle opening, happy with that :D Andy

  11. Watched one get loaded into a van

  12. Took some crap to the tip, freed up abit more room in the garage, slowly sifting through spares to see what will go on the project bikes. Also fitted the painted the radial adapters, they now match the fork bottoms. IMG_7723.jpeg IMG_7720.jpeg IMG_7719.jpeg

  13. Now that’s always going to be sad isn’t it? Unless of course there’s a better plan.

  16. Yesterday, fitted a new thermistor to the 996, and cut of the corroded connector on the end of the wire, and replaced with a shiny new one

  20. Spent a good hour refitting the clutch side conveyor thing on my multi. Finally twigged it was because it was on its side stand and the whole beaky thing was slightly misaligned.
