  1. A thoroughly enjoyable experience & deposit paid!

  3. Ordered a couple of small things and made an oil catch tray from an old 5l bottle of muckoff ready for pani and monster oil & filter changes

  4. Checked all their tyre pressures. All of them needed a little air.

  5. Bit of tinkering...

  6. Lovely set up. Is that the slat board so you can fit shelving etc? Was thinking of doing that to mine. Looks nicer finished than flat plaster imho

  7. Yes. Did it about 12 years ago and really been pleased with it. So much better than plasterboard in a garage imho as it just wipes clean. The best thing though is nothing is permanent and you can move fittings around to where you need them. I have directional lights on brackets that can go anywhere on the wall along with sockets so no need to over plan with loads of permanents sockets. Ditto the TV/iPad/Speakers/webcam - just hang the device where you need it at the time - the joy of WiFi! Also no need to buy brackets/hangers etc. as there a loads of 3D printer files available for all sorts of things you never knew you needed! Go for it :)

  8. Swapped the knackered old airbox for a new (to me) carbon airbox on my pig of a 996

  9. As carbon air boxes have been mentioned, does anyone recognise this product code/part number please?

I’ve a 748S with me at present which has CF airbox and CF air conveyors and I’m impressed with the quality of them but alas there’s no manufacturer’s name or logo just the bar codes like the one above.

  10. Dropped the Multi off for its Desmo service. My local specialist was working today because he’s off on holiday soon.

  11. Gave the bike a clean up, ready for it to be taken away for a new rear tyre tomorrow.

  12. Out for a bimble yesterday on the SD (sorry…) , got a bit lost on the way home in the middle of nowhere then realised the fuel light was on… 22 miles before I found a petrol station open… just over 17.5 litres in an 18 litre tank… phew, bit close that! Anyway shot off the last 15-20 miles home, about half way bike starts to feel odd, squirming around and generally feeling a bit weird… puncture… arse! Just got it home…

so, plug kit out (bloody marvellous!) and hole plugged. Went to charge my makita battery for the tyre pump… charger is fooked…

  13. Great success!

  14. Started an oil service after 1k km following my desmo, only to realise I didn't have any crush washers. Whilst waiting for them I've removed the plastic lower hand guard for my MTS 1260, which will be replaced by carbon fibre parts. I also fitted some grip puppies which and lastly bought a new tour bag (Kriega Rollpack 20).

  15. Started chopping up a touratech pannier rack for a trumpet tiger to hopefully fit it to my DesertX as there is no official Touratech rack for it. I’ve made the task a little (lot?) harder as I’m using the exhaust cut out zega case on RHS so modding a wall mount bracket for that case to fit the remnants of the rack. Also 1st time for stainless mig welding! What could possibly go wrong?!

ps I’ll likely limit my MIG to tacking it together & have someone with skills TIG weld the joints properly.

  16. Cleaned and fed our boots last night, only to find the soles of my boots have worn flat. A trip to my local Sportsbikeshop and a new pair of Daytona Road Star GTX Pro’s have been purchased. Only had my state pension for 36 hours and it’s spent :( :joy: Andy

  17. Got more cut n shut fab work done on my pannier rack. Only tack welded as my mig is cr@p & so are my welding skills though considering I haven’t used either in over a decade it’s only moderately merd. More fiddling & triangulation needed on the forward mount to frame & then start on lhs.

  18. Lubed the clutch cable... and no that isn't a euphemism :D

It was a real clutch operated by a real cable.
