(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. I did think about adding some heavier weight springs ( I may still go down this route) , but would prefer a cartridge kit and they come with new springs

I'll have to ride it and see if the heavier oil has made a difference. Sadly the test ride will have to wait.

  2. Good old dad came down yesterday and we fitted a new pair of tyres to my maxi scooter.
A nice hundred odd miles out with a mate on his scoot today in the sunshine . Stopped at a aprillia/Indian dealer for a coffee and a warm up . Just nice to be out on two wheels for a bit.

  3. Fitted my spare satnav holder to the SL
Also removed the seat hump and found a brand new looking tool kit.

  4. My satnav comes with a clamp with a ball socket on the end, the mounting plate also has a ball socket. I’ve managed to get the clamp on the end of the left handle bar the arranged it so the Nav just about misses everything. I’ll take a photo tomorrow if you want? Trouble is the wiring is about 4 miles long so I’m trying to hide as much as I can, I haven’t wired to the battery yet.

  5. I did similar with a u bolt, it fitted perfectly around the ignition barrel and mounted the screen centrally under the clocks.

  6. check them all out (the tools) - concealed dampness over the years can make bits go rusty.

  9. if you look at the patina, you might be able to tell, there's a good chance it's all original and bike has always been stored lovely and dry!

  10. Changed the oil in the track panigale.
Happiness is finding a clean oil strainer :cool:

  14. Yes it seems to. I let in run on choke for a while as it was freezing, I think it needs an Alfa Tune!
    Thanks

  15. How did the plumbing apprenticeship go?

  16. I had to go and get a coupling from Plumbase (£4) which connected the cold water feed to the tank, but apart from that it was a piece of piss. And it works fine despite being installed by a cack handed moron like me that hates DIY.

  17. Don’t put yourself down, you’ve achieved what you set out to do.
You’ll be coming out of retirement next and buying a white van!

  18. Had a bag made up with straps and collected on the bike this morning.

Purely for holding a puncture repair kit

Might see about dye colours for the strap but it works perfectly fine for now

    Not too in your face

  19. Moved them onto the drive, cleaned the garage floor and moved them back in.

It’s the furthest they’ve moved since September.
