Cleaned an FCR carburettor. Anyone who says injection systems are complicated should work on these. The mid section seals were coming apart and blocking the airways.
Just in the process of getting fucked over by the insurance (BeMoto have done me up like a kipper) so there could be an RSV4 for sale maybe and a HyperMotard 1100 if it goes south.
My 2-bike insurance renewal has just gone up by about £100! I'm guessing your problem is a little more serious than that...
It's been a wee while since I posted here. It could be a while before I post again. Why? Cos I'm just popping out to wash the bike, i may be some time. . first lift of the cover in near 2 years. i'm gonna try and go full bore with the soap and polish. something i haven't done to it in my 15? years of having it. i was 2hrs hard graft on the chain last night. so maybe i will just burn it instead. we'll see.
Nice to see you back sir...perhaps get friendly with the local powder coater and any other types of coating for that matter!!
yip, being a lil OCD i know those engine cases are going to depress the you know what out me. mostly gone at 3yrs old. but, if all goes to plan, and seeing as it's to pish down next week. (during my holiday after 3weeks of scortchio) i'm hoping to transform the mofo.
This has been sitting for the same period in the workshop. But without a cover. It too was mingin. But the paintwork and coatings are vv good Just needed a hose over. But will get the full treatment once I've finished or put a match to the fugly.
They tried to smash my back doors in too! Premium was 300 percent higher than previous year. Said politely to fuck right off and contacted BikeSure. Got a decent quote for my 4 bikes. Worth giving them a call mate
Yep - i did last night and i have to say the whole process took about 30 mins compared to 2 hours with Bennets.....waiting to hear back from both...was chatting with my mate just now (who just bought a pikes peak) - apparently BeMoto lost and underwriter so they seem to be loosing customers....tbh ill be cancelling the sxv policy with them when i get the new quote...
Theres something nice about just chucking a sheet over something and forgetting about it for years....tbh when i get too old for day to day riding ill probably flog the lot and keep the z1000 and throw a sheet over it just in case...i dont think id ever sell it...
They used that one on me a couple of years ago when there was a big hike after being with them for 12 months.
Helicoiled a stripped cylinder stud thread in my engine casing. I feel pretty chuffed that I got it in square with the aid of a guide block, as otherwise it would have been an engine out and complete strip down job.
I'd agree Bikesure are worth a call. I have 3 bikes with them on a multibike policy and they've been really easy to deal with when changing bikes and in the aftermath of a non fault accident 2yrs ago. I recently changed one of the bikes on the policy from a 2005 M1000 to a 2019 Multi 1260 Enduro, and the additional premium until my renewal date late July was @£100 inc admin. I was happy with that considering the difference in value of the bikes, and that I'd gone from max 3Km miles on the M1000 to 8K miles on the multi.
Im well chuffed. 675 a good spread of bikes, RSV4 factory, Hyper1100evoSP, zThou, SXV550, and my old mans 400/4
This morning i have been mostly scaring people in their cars in rush hour gridlock with the most brappiest of braps from the SXV.
