  5. Decided to sort the rusty centre stand on my Multistrada as it has slightly bugged me since I got it. Just two bolts so how hard can it be? Did my usual of using a variety of sockets and extensions to extend the Allen key and number one comes loose with a crack. Number 2 is not having any of it, to the point that the 3/8 to 1/2 adaptor gave up the will to live. So knocked up an adaptor for my ridiculous torque wrench that could spin the world if I could get the right adaptor. No go! In the end I had to do a couple of heat/ shock and unlock cycles before it finally gave up and came out. Presently the centre stand is in a carrier bag coated in Deox C gel and will then get a coat of high zinc primer before some black and then back on.

Years ago that would have been such a ball ache of a job but having the right tools makes life so much easier.

Runout to Wales with a couple of mates and a stop at Tollgate cafe just outside Llangolen... Lovely victoria sponge, sorry no pic of that. You'll just have to use your imagination :)

  7. Had a ride up to Hugglescote this morning, to pick up a new (to me) gear selector lever for the GSXR750 project, when I got home, put the bike in the van, ready to drop the van off for the AC to be fixed

  8. Fug it. I'm done. Just to remove and bin the scotoiler. Maybe clean and paint the oil pipes and that's it. 10hrs in and all I can see is dodgy engine casings and rusty spring. Boo. I had to go back out and check. Those markings on the plastics are the reflection of the stones it's parked on.

  9. and, it's starting to rain. which is a good thing. the 848 can wait, and maybe the house wont burn down. it's been sortchio and tinder dry for weeks with wild fires going on everywhere. how long do yous think you could ride about with one of these before you suffocate?
