Went to Infinity in Watford yesterday and bought a Bering jacket (on special offer for £99) and a pair of Spada boots
Finally got a few hours to myself and flashed ecu with race map and fitted akra can. Need to wait till rain stops here for test spin. Sounds mega at idle
What? While sipping my single-source artisanal coffee discussing the politics of intersectionality and the benefits of organic beard oil? I’d spotted that potential hazard though and they’ll be zipped and buckled up before riding. They actually have a reasonable amount of ankle support - not Supertech R or ski-boot level protection - but not bad for what is essentially casual looking footwear. Waterproof too. FWIW, the retail experience was head and shoulders above the one I had in J&S the week before. I do try to buy from shops rather than eBay but they need to justify the extra cost and tbh the grudging grunts and mono-syllabic responses to questions I received at J&S didn’t.
The jacket does look as if it would do double duty for shooting. My go to jacket for daily wear is actually one of those blue Barbour quilted thingies that’s about 25 years old and still going strong.
Went out for an hour on the Triumph , first ride since I rebuilt the rear caliper , the Triumph sounds so much better than the Ninja when you open it up , and the rain held off .
Cleaned out the burnt out insides of the rectifier regulator from my 900ss in preparation for rebuilding it in a modified form. I want to build a non-shunt type for use with a converted to DC charging system on a CG125. It will need to handle a maximum of 90 Watts!
A trip to Halfords this morning, to replace the perfectly good 1098 YTX14 battery I inadvertently recycled with a load of old bike batteries. Where's the face palm emoji when you need one ? £68 rrp, £51.20 with my trade card. Andy
Fitted R&G fork protectors to the Triumph , and bought myself a pair of Textile trousers from J&S for the Scotland trip .
Changed the rear tyre on my KaaaToooM the one fitted looked to be illegal. I’ve used all the swearing words I know and made some new ones . Next doors 4 year old has also been practicing some of these too.
Quite tenuous but bike related, went and picked up my Ducati C3 Jacket from Ducati Worcester. Beautiful jacket, too nice to use on the bike. Top blokes at Worcester too, had a good chat over coffee. Loads of bikes in the show room but most of them sold!
Took the DT175 out for a razz on the narrow lanes around these parts. It was quite exciting really because the roads were wet and greasy and as the bike is shod with cheap knobblies it was squirming all over the place
Shiny new MoT, no advisories. Damp and wet ride with a very gusty wind. I’ll clean the bike tomorrow. Andy
Got up early to beat the rain , took the Scrambler , did 50 miles , Dundry,Chew Valley, the Mendips, Wells,Cheddar,Burrington Combe,Blagdon .Just made it home before the rain started .
Considered booking the Panigale in for an MoT. Looked at the weather forecast and ‘What’s the point’ was the conclusion. I’m sick of this rain.
