    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  2. Celebrated my 60th earlier on in the week by seeing how much the Tuono would wheelie along the Helmsley TT.
When the visor is down no-one can see how old you are :imp:
Then bought an nc35 rear wheel to start on the ssa conversion on my rgv

  3. An old friend of mine used to wheelie along the Helmsley TT to Stokesley. It seemed that he’d be on the back wheel the whole way some evenings.

  4. Wildo, thx.

  5. Having always bought circlips from whichever bike manufacturer, I'm sitting here with verniers and old adj cam pulley ones trying to figure out what ones to buy from Simply Bearings. £3 for a pack of two. Probably £20 each from ducati. The bearings are only a £5. Probably £50 from Ducati the rip off bunch of italian german bastards.

Edit: £16 for 2 new bearings and 4 new circlips, 2x small external and 2x larger internal. I'll find out if I got the circlips sized correctly. I think so, but don't have a tiny pointy thing for measuring grooves, so measured the old circlips and found ones which would be slightly stressed with the corresponding unstressed diameters i measured.

  6. As an aside about bearings, I was working in china for a while and trying to obtain genuine skf bearings. Turns out the Chinese do really good copies.
Any critical bearings I get in the uk I go direct to an accredited supplier and dont get them online. Still cheaper than from Ducati.

  8. Just spent an hour packing my kriega US20 for the upcoming weekend and also sorting out the straps on the bike to take the bag.

Every time I put the straps on I seem to do it a different way :bucktooth:

  9. Almeria in about 6 weeks and need to provide manufacturers’ details, weights and values for the Carnet so digging out all the stuff we are going to take. Thought I’d better check the tyre warmers and found a bent live pin on the moulded plug of one. Had to liberate a plug from a spare set of warmers but we’re in business. Now waiting on confirmation if I need to take a 55mm socket and 230Nm torque wrench. Andy

  10. Had All Year Biker treat all 3 bikes today. Actually highlighted all the fasteners that the dealer either didn’t put properly or are missing after the last service. 3 bikes and all 3 have missing or loose bolts. BCCCCAA7-2509-4761-8FE7-490B5806D455.jpeg

  11. De-ethanating (is that even a word?) petrol for my Suzuki (and chainsaw and lawn mowers etc). According to Honda my CG125 can use E10 petrol. Well, it might run on it but what will it do to it if left sitting for a while?

Frightening but believable and the reason why I never have and never will let anyone else work on my bikes. I even stand over the MOT tester watching exactly what he is doing.

  14. Insurance renewed for another year following successful negotiations to reduce the initial premium request. Now time to get out there and ride. Andy

  15. Been to see a guy about mapping the multi :)

  16. Jesus, they must be getting big if you need Ordnance Survey to find your way around it!

  17. Rode the Scrambler the long way home .

  18. Today I will be getting my kit together for a long weekend touring Wales

  19. Measured, cleaned and fitted a spare set of used front discs to the Multistrada OE wheels in preparation for fitting a set of new Metzeler Roadtec 01SE’s. The current 01SE’s (on my preferred Hypermotard 950sp wheels currently fitted to the bike) have done over 2000 miles and whilst they still have plenty of tread at the moment, I have a week touring in Wales later in the month and I don’t want to have to be scratching around for new tyres before the end of the holiday. Andy

  20. I phoned my bike tyre supplier today to get some Michelins for next week but none if the right size in the country.
I certainly would be ordering earlier rather than sooner at the moment as with everything there seems to be a shortage of tyres. Been recommended dunlop as an alternative so let's see how they work
