(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Cream_Revenge, Nov 15, 2018.

  1. Last week I (allegedly) got the last Pirelli MT60 front tyre that was in stock in the country. Next batch of MT60’s from Pirelli aren’t due in till 30th September at the earliest apparently.

  2. Been looking at sourcing new road tyres for the last few weeks for several friends (and myself), the Michelin stock in the UK is dire and the Metzeler stock in the UK is dwindling. Managed to get a pair of Pirelli Supercorsa SC’s for the V4 but I’ve got to wait for delivery from within the UK and pay an arm and a leg. Guessing it’s a logistics problem, getting raw materials to manufacturing facilities and from manufacturing facilities to retailers. Global movement of merchandise is pretty dire at the moment. 3. And it’s now ready for “the off” early tomorrow :)

  7. 7B35ABB9-5CFA-47DC-8617-29CF3EBC7D51.jpeg Did around 340 miles from Maidstone to Le Mans. Train delayed by one hour and the queue was massive, then told to wait to be loaded last :(
Chatted with a fella with a new Mutley V4, nice bike

  11. Fitted the 1299 Translogic quickshifter / blipper to the 959 yesterday (cheers @990Glen). Went out for a test run and both working perfect and butterly smooth. Got the bike loaded into the van and dropped off at P3 Tuning in Liverpool this morning for the full re map. @Gav1199s, Can’t wait to get it back next week!

  12. Playing musical bikes. Moved the 1098R out of the hallway and into the garage; temporarily moved the 748R (from the dining room) into the kitchen so I can move the R6 out of the dining room and temporarily park it on the driveway; repositioned the 748R next to the NC29 in the dining room; shuffle the 748RS and 853 engines so I can get the Cube CC in the dining room as well; moved the SuperSport out of the garage and put it into the dining room, after I cleaned the (original) chain which was getting rusty and finally moved the R6 into the hallway. I’m knackered now and still have to find the energy reserves to get up in the loft and retrieve the original 1098R Akrapovic exhaust and a pair of 1098R Termignoni carbon end cans. All go here and still need to catch up with the BSB at Snetterton, the WSBK at Magny Cours and Carole :joy: Andy

  13. My recently purchased 900SS ie (40K miles) was kinda smelly idling while being on pole position, (at the traffic lights...)
Unknown open pipes (anyone recognise these? see below.) , standard air filter and dB killers installed.

So I took her to the doctor... Just as I expected, someone had been fiddling with the ECU sometime in the last 20 years,
12.2 AFR, however no ponies escaped during this period, problem fixed by MAD Racing in NL.

Getting home after adjustments I took the 996S out, same 25 mile route, just for "the feel" and this reminded me that the 996S is a total hooligan when compared to the 900.
900 has the Ducati feel for sure, the 996S is beyond.
Both bikes from 2001 and I do enjoy them both, 2 classics from 20 years ago.

  18. Hi Gav. They reckon they’re starting it Wednesday and might be finished before the day’s end. There is a chance I may be able to pick it up Thursday or Friday but this depends on work. Saturday lates. :upyeah:
Spent a good half hour chatting with Jon with him explaining what extras he’d be doing to it. Seems a decent lad!

  19. That’s great, not too long to wait then. Look forward to hearing about how you’re finding the upgrades etc. Yes, he seems pationate about what he does.
