Yes but that is based on knowing what to look for as in certain markers in packets or device id's or what ever trigger is set for. Android and old windows mobile phones are advertising them self as desktop os from moment you use the net so if you do actually share connection it also advertises as desktop browser. Internet explorer 6 or Google chrome can be coming from mobile or desktop. Windows phone 7 advertises as Ie9 and after update ie10 just like desktop windows 8 browser. They could never be 100% certain it is mobile or desktop unless they did over the top crazy ass inspection of every new connection.
Yep from the 3S - I never liked the shape of the 4 so held off upgrading. As you might guess though, the batteries on these phones are now next to useless and I can't be bothered to change them so we have decided to go for the 5. Still prefer the curved shape of the 3 though !
Watching an advert for the Iphone 5 and the pricing in the US $199 - $399 which looks pretty good. In uk on any tarrif it is way above any of those (why), a typical contract for 2 years is £1133 up to £1353 why would anyone pay that much just to have this particular phone, and before anyone says it yes it is a phone you can talk to people text them and email, why is it worth the extra, over anything else, can't see it myself, or am i missing the whole i have the latest thing, thing?
dont know yet myself Paul. I've never owned a smart phone, the best phone I've ever owned is my present one, a sony ericsson, I guess it's smart coz it's got a colour screen  . Why do I want an iphone though we dont even have 4G here ,and probably wont get it for yonks. It all depends on my contract (when it's up) and how much I am willing to pay. At the moment I'm on a £15 per month cheapo jobbie ,at least I think it's that or there abouts . I normally do an 18mth contract basically because I dont use my phone for anything other than making/recieving calls and the odd text message, oh and the endless stream of jokes that everybody seems to send me. I dont think I'll be able to get an Iphone on that I'd probably have to up my contract ,which if I'm honest I wont do ,I'll just pay for the handset if I decide to get one. Nope I dont need it but do you know what ,every now and then I'll treat myself because I'm worth it and fuck it. Theres so much that isn't needed in life but what do other people want ,do they want me not to have one because they dont ,fuck em. Fuck em Fuck em.
Peter, I was too, with Orange, and they would not upgrade my phone to anyting remotely "Smart", but walking next door into Carphone wherehouse, they did a handset only upgrade got a Galaxy S2, kept me on the same plan Orange, and lowered the monthly cost, why they can do it and not Orange themselfs i don't know. but i have nothing but praise for them, and would recomend anyone else to go in and have a look if they are comming to the end of their contract. ( i don't work for them !)
If you want something to phone & text, don't waste your money on a smartphone. If you want a PC in the hand, go for it. PS, we're likely to get a 4G service from EE (T-Mobile & Orange) by Christmas. Everything Everywhere rebrands as 'EE' for super-fast services | ZDNet Oh and frequently the customer service and service provision divisions of the big phone companies operate as entirely separate entities and don't necessarily get on. Therefore another customer service company (like Carphone Warehouse) will get you a better deal. I've dumped Vodafone CS for our corporate accounts for this reason, although they're still providing the service.
What's good about an iPhone? It's basically an office in a pocket. Yes, it phones and messages. But it emails, you can even see many attachments. The agenda is super-useful (synching automatically to the Mac, so doesn't matter where you entered the meeting). Consulting the web is cool (no need to lug a PC or tablet). The Google maps thing is handy (if like me you don't have a Sat Nav). Camera obviously comes in very handy, as does sending the pix to people as emails on occasion - or MMS. The Facetime gadget is cool - you can make free video calls to anyone with an Apple device if they're on wifi. Having a complete address book synched to the Mac is also incredibly useful. Then it's an iPod too, so you don't need one of those. And that's before you start on all the millions of apps you can get which can all be handy - like getting your boarding pass sent directly to it so no need to print any paper. You can check in from your iPhone too. It just is the most useful gadget made - and I'm not remotely geeky - don't even like technology much.
Glidd you are describing what average smartphones could do number of years before iPhone. Some things iPhone made better but some worse by locking you in to apple world. Skype is available for all platforms, Linux including android, Mac pc, iPhone os, old windows mobile and new Windows phone, windows pc and blackberry. Facetime is only apple to apple. User interface for it might be better then Skype but no one was stopping apple from making a Skype client to look like that. Syncing with Mac is good but have you seen what is synced via skydrive on windows phone and pc? Contacts, calendar, agenda, office documents, pictures, videos, music, internet explorer favourites and their username/password data if already saved on pc. Calendar and agenda can have entire emails and documents attached in them for quick access, videos, audio and other. Then there is free app called one note for all MS touch based devices that synced between all your devices. That is default on top of that any music files and any other files plus ability to stream it back to your device. You can also then login to your skydrive from any pc and use built in web based office documents editor while all changes you make to these documents that way are instantly sent to all linked devices via push notifications, automatic if you want. All have something all have issues but it is not just apple.
For god's sake Lucasz, you have chosen not to use anything tainted by an apple logo, we get it! Did Steve Jobs smidsy you or something?!
According to this, it's the fastest phone with the thinnest profile out there: iPhone 5 tops benchmark chart ? Reg Hardware Plus it doesn't seem to have done Apple's sales figures any problems: Apple's first batch of iPhone 5 preorders sold out in an hour ? Reg Hardware Fanboys order 2m iPhone 5s in 24 hours ? Reg Hardware Apple forecast to sell 8m iPhone 5s next weekend ? Reg Hardware Holiday iPhone sales projected to reach 46.5M as pundits 'underestimate' Apple
Sales for apple were never a problem with so many followers. Even when 4s came that was identical to 4 in looks Ant that link you posted mentions galaxy s3 getting higher score on new Android OS so a no. Bagz do not recall him smidsy me but do recall him lying about previous iPhone and the spec they had or how they were 1st to do this and that where there is plenty of phones doing said things just under different name. Oh yes I can transfer my music between devices from day one. Side note try keyboard called swift key, should be for iPhone as well it is the best keyboard ever for touch screen as it learns your way of typing from your mails, text messages, posts like this and general usage.
Context!! " Samsung's stock Galaxy S III does too. But its score, 1560, is still behind that of the purported iPhone 5 result. Run Jelly Bean on the S III and it retakes the lead, however, with a suspiciously spectacular 1781. An extra 221 points with a new OS? Well, possibly."
Well thats it then Iphone for me , sorry luckaz stick your android up your bum I can buy out of my contract for 21 quid but I'm not on principle that phone companies and charges are just a rip off. So roll on Nov. I'tll be my crimbo pressie to me. Thread closed. Next peson to reply is a bumder.
Sorry lasted so long till I watched today watchdog, please do watch it for what I hope is full understanding of my problem with apple. Last 20 min. He.
