  1. The intolerance and animosity of the smoking loby is of no surprise to me , but suggesting that others wear a respitory mask so that the drug addicts can partake of their disgusting and anti social behaviour surely takes it to another level .

  2. really? The suggestion was that if you are a non smoker but insist on applying for a job in a smoking pub, you could wear a mask. It's no hardship, I have to wear one 90% of the time at work.
    I suppose you are of the opinion that bacon should be banned, as if a Muslim who wants a job at a butcher but refuses to be around pork is being discriminated against.
    if you want to work in a spay shop you wear a mask, if you are a non smoker wishing to work in a smoking pub ditto. End of

  5. I suspect there may be another sort of ban on the way soon.
    And not before time. There's an increasingly noxious element creeping into a lot of threads on here (not for the first time) and its fouling the atmosphere of a public space.

  19. At the time it was mooted I did hope they would put up smoking licences for 50% of those pups and restaurants in each town.

    My thought was firstly it would give people a choice rather than a hard no but secondly market forces would decide it. Those who allowed smoking would see whether their profits went south by allowing smoking and then you would have some actual reference points.

    Something I reminded a friend of the other day, the law that was recently introduced was so poorly promoted that many still do not know it is now illegal to smoke in a car when you have kids under the age of 18 in it at the same time
