  3. Popped over to Ducati@ Aylesbury on Tuesday, with a positive mind set re the scrambler. Maybe, just maybe I would put a deposit down on a new one, in some pics I quite liked it.

Then I saw it in the flesh, and oh gawd, what a mess. A truly turgid machine, built to a cost and for a very specific market.

Then a young trendy chappie all bearded up wearing chinos with turn ups and some kind of boating shoe turned up for a test ride. Started the machine up, I hesitate to call it a bike, oh good lord, is this really where Ducati have gone. Sounded like an angry wasp, well, a mildly agitated one at least.

I then went and looked at streetfighters instead, just to set me back onto the straight and narrow.

Still, it takes all sorts I suppose, and thankfully I'm not the sort that likes the Scrambler after all.

  4. They have a more manly one at P&H :)
    Sounded lovely on start up

  5. Scrambler is
    'a young trendy chappie' ?

  6. Has anyone spotted any good Ducati sponsored finance deals for the scrambler?
    I have had a look; honest !
    Cheers,

  8. Nice!

  9. Have to admit I had to look up "turgid" still don't know what he means by it but guess it wasn't complementary. Do I take it that evoarrow isn't young or trendy or a chap?

  10. Yes, yes and most definitely yes :)

  11. Jez that got me thinking.

I think I'm a lot younger than I am, which isn't a bad thing, referring to a programme I recently watched, you get 1 lap, so enjoy it.
Trendy? When I think of that, I think clothes, so nope, I wear any crap that's been washed and hanging in a wardrobe. I like wearing the wife's underwear, but that's for another thread.
A chap? Definitely not a chap. An arsehole at times, yes.

Seriously though, I ride a Ducati, I wear a power ranger suit, so I think I'm young, the fecking coolest kid on the road and I really don't care, because I get 1 lap.

  12. :D chappie

  13. Saw one being ridden in East London yesterday. Looked good. I like them :)

  14. I rode one last month and really liked it. I have a couple of Hondas, which I love but wanted something different. After the dealer pissed me off with the usual "I'll see if we can get another allocation if you cross my palm with silver" (YAWN!), I went cool on them. I happened to drop into the dealers who sold me my Hondas and was telling him about this. He told me that they are opening a Ducati dealership up the road in June so, I asked if he had much interest from punters. He said that he has a few numbers to call when they open but no firm orders. So, I ordered my Full Throttle from him and he was actually polite and appreciative. No surprise because they had been good with my other transactions. Why then, do other dealers adopt the gap toothed car salesman attitude when they can "sell all we can lay our hands on"! Your time of famine will come!!

  16. Nice one! I'm having the Classic aluminium 'guards on mine.

  17. Well lads, you won't be disappointed! 400 miles under the wheels on mine already and it's feckin superb! Not fast, but loads of fun. You can chuck it around so easily, and because it's not a sports bike it feels like you're travelling faster than you are. It reminds me of my old LC's, I have a big grin everytime I ride it! The only thing that I don't like, is the "Land of Joy" shite, what a load of bollocks!

  18. My mate, after seeing my icon in yellow has just tried to order one....sept if he's lucky!!!!
Must be plenty of folk wanting them :)

  19. Someone who has tried one and wants something different to the other 'bikes he owns! Reliability can also mean predictable too! Never tried a Daivel or any other Duke but I like this one so it's a good job I'm buying it stop someone who doesn't want one having to suffer the ignominy of ownership!
