  1. I’m crap at wording things well (that may already be apparent) but will ‘steal’ that text and email my MP.
    Will post the response here.

  2. If you Google write to your MP, there are a couple of websites who have links and pre-prepared headers for all MP's.

  3. I went through here;

  4. To me it says they tried to trust areas like the north with a set of local rules to get it under control.... unfortunately these couldn’t be trusted with their social responsibility so we have all got to now suffer!

  5. Did you supply your full details ? Otherwise you'll get no response.

  6. The press conference yesterday did make it clear that, at least according to the 4 different models they analysed, the reproduction rate is above 1 everywhere including the areas who haven't got a lot of infections at the moment. Meaning if you do nothing it gets bad real quick.
    Raab is still a knob :)

  8. Every crisis Johnson has had in his private life, he has always seemed to run away from it and pass the buck.
    Looks like he is doing the same here.

  9. I did. :)

  11. We can live in hope.

  12. Only if they all quit.

  13. Got an automated reply;

    Thank you for your email.

    Due to the Coronavirus crisis, we are getting a huge number of emails. I and my staff are doing our best to respond, but concentrating on the most urgent cases. Please email again if you have an urgent issue, but otherwise we are so grateful for your patience.

    I have not yet had the opportunity to read your message but wanted to acknowledge its receipt. You will receive a response shortly.

    If you have not already done so, please ensure you have included your full name and address in your email. This is so that I am able to confirm you are a constituent of Harwich and North Essex, and so that I can begin to look into the matter you have raised.

    There is a strict Parliamentary convention that MPs can only deal with matters raised by residents from their own constituency. If you are not sure who your MP is, please visit https://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/ and enter your postcode.

    I receive a large amount of correspondence every day but do try to respond as quickly as possible. If your email is part of a template-style campaign I will note its contents, but will always give priority to casework queries, requests for assistance and personal matters raised by constituents. Any abusive emails will be deleted without a response.

    You can read how my office handles your Personal Data at http://www.bernardjenkin.com/privacy-policy

    Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact me.

    Sir Bernard Jenkin”

    My interpretation of that is ‘thanks to covid I won’t reply’

    But will wait and see what happens.

  15. Would be a bit harsh to write him off just yet, not sure how long is considered acceptable to wait for a response ?

  16. This is about compliance , not about a virus .
