So, Jerez, What Do We Think?

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Sam1199, May 2, 2018.

  1. Ducati have certainly got themselves into a situation.

All three riders were doing what they're supposed to do. Each one was trying to gain an advantage and a place. That's racing. That's what we like to see. There's no point blaming any one of them.

Did he see me, didn't he see me? There's no mirrors, no indicators and no time.

I can even see Lorenzo's point of view. As Roayalwithcream says, if he wants to pass he has to do it competitively.

But.... the two Ducati's are evenly matched. It's obviously very difficult to pass. Once passed Dovi would have moved away from Jorge. We all know that and we've seen it before. I don't think that's a disputable point.

So you wind up with a situation where you're paying a guy that's actually holding up the rider that could compete for the World Championship.

You're paying for something that's a problem. Jorge has shown us this on three separate occasions now.

Therefore it has to be managed. If it had been managed Ducati would have had the points from a second and third. Dovi wouldn't have lost much ground in the championship and who knows he may even have been able to press Marquez into making a mistake. Who knows?

Lorenzo clearly was not going to be able to do that.

My hunch is that the whole situation is the final straw. By now the team management will have made the decision and Lorenzo will be out but when?

Ask yourself. If you were Dovi, what would you be saying to
    Luigi Dall’Igna? I'd be saying,

"If you want me to win this World Championship, you need to get that problem out of the way and that's not next season it's this season. It's up to you how you do it".

  2. Poppycock, there's to much attention paid to politics by both ducati riders, they could try riding the bike instead.

  3. Clearly there is NO attention paid to politics or team spirit/orders by Lorenzo. Clearly they were both riding as fast as they could, which wasn't fast enough.

Lorenzo had a soft tyre which was shagged. He turned himself into a rolling road block handing the victory to Marquez on a plate.

  4. Lorenzo has done this a few times, choosing tyres that will make him look good for half the race. I think he knows exactly what he is doing as well with his experience. Talented (in the right conditions) but a racer who is compromising Ducati and their chance of any championship win. They must be regretting their choice big style.
