Also it reminds me of the Honda CBF1000 which i had two of, god knows why at the time i though they were good...... silly me
A GS is no charmer when it comes to character but there a super machine , I've had an rs for a week while I left my gs in for warranty they are dull bikes but very comfy not in the same league as a gs !! GSA or GS you will find once moving they are very nimble and I'm borderline dwarf here was my oaf just before I said goodbye
I have just bought one of these but with slightly raised bars for more comfort. Great to ride but I dont stop for a chat with it once I have finished the ride as I sometimes do with a Duke. I did wonder if a fruity exhaust note would improve things, I see you had a Termi on yours, did that help ?
People always slag the gs i can see from the tyres you could push yours on too !! I have genuinely never got as much potential out of any bike I've owned than a gs
I`ve not had the bike long and barely ridden it for obvious reasons. I`ll see how I get along with it after 1000 miles or so and then if I think its a keeper I may splash out on something noisy for it.
I've never found the GS to be lacking in character really, its character is rather akin to a Jeeves... "Ah, if I might trouble sir, it seems to me that sir might prefer to return to the tranquility of open road ahead? If sir should humour me with a little exertion and offer me the convenience of a little more air/fuel then we shall banish all to the confinement of the left and right rear-view mirrors". "Would sir prefer to pack the clean pants and toothbrush for the upcoming holiday, or everything sir owns? Then might I recommend the BMW sir?" In fairness the Multi is a nice loping holiday bus too, if it had shaft drive it'd be harder to be a GS-zealot. The newest one I've had is my 2010 and it's ace.
Spain last year with Jay. Anyone climbing aboard straight from a sport bike would not get it. You need some time in the saddle to realise what they can do.
They can bore you to death and make you like some knackered old bearded coffin dodger who does accountancy or book keeping for a living !!
I find that insulting Marco!! I am not an accountant or a book keeper!!!! The GS certainly does get a bad wrap and nobody nods to me anymore but they are cracking bikes. I never envisaged the day I would be riding one but my body is knackered and needs must. That bastard V4 Streetfighter keeps popping into my head though.....
Soz mate, but they are for old men!! Nobody nods to you cause they assume your neck is too old and stiff to nod back?? Buy the V4, lose the stigma, become a bad ass motorcyclist again
Depends what the bike is used for. Sunday afternoon short blasts, buy an S1r or Monster1200, Tuono..Use it all year round, tour, scratch, long days out....^^^^^^^^
