So Thinking Of A Gs? Purely For....

  1. The ugliness of that bike is only matched by mk1 multistrada tho. I mean, the designer must be a recipient of benefits for the blind.

This, however, is a marvel and a Lowry masterpiece where as that SDR is a Picasso!

  2. That is a gorgeous looking motorcycle. I keep looking at the Rallye with gold wheels.

  3. Best looking GS there is. Imho the rallye seat looks by wet but I chose lowered suspension so only comes with 2 piece seat

  4. If you're not going to off-road, test out the KTM Super Duke GT (and if you are, you could just put some Anakee tyres on it, or knobblies).

  5. Have they improved the quickshifter on the mk2? The mk1 was wank.

  6. The quickshifter on my Gen2 SDR is the same as on the current GT and it is really slick :)

  7. Hey hey hey, the Mk1 strada was meant for men who are sexual tyranasuarus's and comfortable with their sexuality , none of that metro sexual gs kinda shit :D

  8. Yep. I also tested the BMW R1250RS, in case you're curious, and preferred the KTM.

  9. Welcome to the club :upyeah: Get a different end can on there.

  10. Not for me. No telelever suspension.

  11. I’ve had my 1200s for a couple of years now and really like it. Got a full Akra system and a couple of other mods and it goes really well has a second kick at 8k revs and loads of torque plus heated grips. Dead easy to work on as well I particularly like the way the screen is held on by four clips.
Mine has helibars as well and I’m happy to do 500+ miles a day on it plus they are quite rare only being made in 2006/7.

  12. On my third GS, now a 1250GS HP. I love my 1098R, but the GS is simply the best bike ever made for riding anywhere everywhere anytime anyhow.

  13. Why do I look at the 2nd picture and think of a shot elephant about to have it’s tusks pulled out!!

  14. Also have a 1200S, and do enjoy it. off course it does not have the mad power of the new super bike stuff. I have often ridden this to Cape Town from Port Elizabeth (800km) The long wheel base and Ohlins make for sure footed higher speed cornering,, the Akro headers and end cans make a noticeable difference

  15. How come your bikes sleeping at the side of the road no garage?

  16. I'm sure a GS can carry your 240kilos no probs they are quite torquey at least my R1150 RT is.....

  17. It seems to me to be like a BMW version of the old carby 900ss . Simliar riding position and comfort but a lot more power and with a better ride. I`ve ridden mine to work today and have to say I really like it and can imagine it being easy to cover long distances on.
Apart from a slight lack of character the only thing I don`t like on it is the lack of engine braking compared to a 900ss .

  18. I toured California three years ago on an older F800GS, two up it was plenty quick enough and very capable.
I came home and bought a used F800GS 30th anniversary with luggage. Did TT fortnight two up last year and it was perfect, surprised a few knee out merchants too
I gave £6,000 for mine with just 4,000 miles on it with full bmw hard luggage and tank bag.
Not the prettiest bike ever but not quite as revolting as the big twins!! 4D59E42D-052E-4B13-AAAF-4E2A6C549E03.jpeg

  20. I had an 800 gs adventure bought it to tour the alps and use on mountain tracks to link the different mountain roads fantastic bike to the point when I got my gsa 12 I absolutely hated it couldn't get used to the telelever no dive suspension but I persevered and found the handling to be superb ! it thought me a small lesson not to be such an impatient pig !
