  1. "We"? Only mrs ET is ill, you could do all the hard work and look after them all eve.....

Somehow "we" I think means mr ET controls the tv remote. Mrs ET-everything else.....

  4. Putting the bike in your house, especially if it is difficult, is a poor idea. This is because it will provide you with the perfect excuse for never getting it out again.

You bought the bike to ride, and, if I remember correctly, you never have.
You have to decide if you are going to ride it, or if you aren't. If you're not, you should sell it. If you are, you need to start on a plan (with timings) to do that.

It strikes me that having suffered a huge confidence knock, you need to start from scratch again. Get a simple to ride, boring, unintimidating, cheap, low-powered hack like a 125. Do some more training on it. Ride it around for a few months. Then, when you feel ready, get out the Monster. If you don't start on this project soon, the Ducati will just spend another year in the weather feeling unhappy.

You are shelving these decisions. What you feel comfortable doing probably isn't what you really want to do. You want to be a bike rider - so start to make it happen.

Of course, it's none of my business so you can ignore this advice but maybe you need a kick up the arse. ;)

  5. I've just been out to buy some groceries cos swmbo is laid up on the sofa.

Barring half a dozen eggs that I managed to find all by myself I had to ask where all the other things she wanted were.

Last time I went grocery shopping was 12 years ago and I ballsed it up then too. I'm not meant to do shopping. :(

  8. changing chain on Elefant - back sprocket looked so-so but front sprocket was a definite replace. Worse thing was how sloppy (even allowing for normal quota of slop as std) it was on the output shaft which had me worried that it had damaged spline on same. Very relieved to find it was down to the last cheap-skate who made sprocket and I don't mean a cheap sprocket either - despite the available 'meat' of the generously wide sprocket (wider than the toothed area) the manufacturer had decided to only leave splined area for 2/3rds of the full width. Output shaft spline showed little wear, Thank Loz :upyeah:

  9. Dragged my sorry sick back side out of bed at 7 this morning to load the track bike onto the trailer and get to MRs by 9 so the workshop can repair the pit lane drop damage. Oil in the catch tray wasn't a good sign and although the damage was all repaired and the oil filters were all good after "running the engine in" on track, the horizontal cylinder head gasket has an oil leak - bugger. Back home now and going to start stripping bits off the bike so the head gasket can be changed, wasn't planning to do much this weekend any way. Andy

  15. Have had to put up with 2 teenage girls getting ready for a party tonight. They started at 4:15 pm and have now reached the drying hair stage. We have no hot water, tank literally drained dry.

And I can't drink yet as I'm taking them to the party in 10 mins apparently, yer right, going to put the kettle on and get comfy.
