went to a muslim wedding today. Loved it at the end, when the groom was told "you may now meet the bride"
Had a run out on the R1, did the Rather Road to Sherburn, raced a big black cloud back to York, just back and tucked away before a heavy shower hit. Taxed the Exige for 6 months, might have a play with both tomorrow
I phoned up the fishing helpline today. I said, "I'm hopeless at fishing and need some tips." The man said, "Okay, can you hold the line?" I replied, "No."
this is going on my village today. seeing as the weather has not gone crapy we are going along. The Scottish Six Days Trial - Home
Guaranteed fun - not much like this down here these days I used to go to a meet at Aldershot (hungry hill) but it's not as well attended any more.
there a strange bunch trials bike riders.. more of a motocross guy when it came to competition. always good to get out the house tho.
Finally had our weekend guests leave about 15 mins ago so I may be able to get out on one or both bikes this afternoon Also had confirmation from my client in the Middle East that they've booked my flights and accommodation for a trip in a weeks time.
One year I went to spectate at the SSDT - it must have been about 1978. Rode from Edinburgh to Fort William, saw 'Pipeline' and some other sections, came back via Dalwhinnie. Never been back though - once was enough.
Brought down one of the bigger, trickier branches from my out-of-control willow tree in the front garden. After sawing through it and then cutting the logs to size, etc, I am shattered. You'd think they'd invent a power tool that could cut through wood :whistling: Got a thumbs up from one of the neighbours and also got a bit of an interrogation from a couple of lads in a van that "just happened to be passing". They asked me if I was doing the job myself - well, I had to say "Yes", seeing as it was me doing the job and they saw me doing it. They offered to do the job for me, they asked me if I was intending to cut the whole thing down, questions, questions ... I took their business card and said they'd be the first I'd call if I needed help. They were practically shaking heads the whole time. I'll cope. Wondering whether to go for a gentle bimble in a while. I'll see first whether I seize up or loosen up from the morning's work.
nope deffo wouldn't travel far for it. not my kind of gig. road from here to dalwhinnie good tho. from speanbridge on superb.
Observed trials are more of a participant than a spectator sport, as far as I can see. I've spectated at a few trials over the years - well, a very few - and find them a little bit interesting but they do not remotely compare with racing. Scotland is only about 400 miles from London so not too far, and over the years I have been a few times by bike, by car, and by air on business. Visited St Andrews, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Helensburgh, Fort William. But when it comes to visiting for leisure, the trouble is that similar time, money and distance get you deep into France, Germany, and nearly to the Alps. Scotland is never going to be the more tempting option.
Went for the gentlest of 80-mile bimbles in the end. Just managed to get a cup of tea before Loomies shut. Sporadic rain the second half of the trip, no dramas. Kind of glad I went out but feeling sore now! Beer sorted. Chilling.
deffo, would i travel 400mls when you guys have the continent and better weather on your door step? probably not. but i did score a specially bottled six day trial whiskey from the bennevis distillery. for free.
Was planning to go out on the bike this aft but not a chance. Been away for the last couple of weeks so spent all afternoon playing football with my kids in the park. Came back knackered. Ordered some new front brake pads and fitted some led drl's on the bike.
just a few of the wee mans pics. these things have to be road legal. check out the size of the no plates.
