I've answered a shit load of emails, read through a clients first draft business plan, redesigned a piece of literature and had fish and chips Tonight I'm off out for tapas with SWMBO
Waved my bike off...Taken away by a very nice man with a platted beard, who is going to mod a new zorst for me... Anyone got a cheap 848/1098 carbon heat shield/flapper valve cover?
Took the Ducati t work today instead of the Yamasaki. oh, also discovered Prince William and Harry both have Ducatis as well. Impressive.... Does that mean Ducati are by Royal appointment? Why have Triumph not given the princes a pair of Daytonas? Given the missed opportunities to provide support bikes during the Olympics it does make me wonder what their PR and marketing department are up to, especially in this year of enhanced national pride.
Got my 1982 Pantah 600 MOTed, insured and taxed. Took it out for a short ride, the first time it has run in some years. Since the tyres were made in 2003 I won't be riding it very far or very fast until I get a pair of new Pirelli Sport Demons fitted (on order for next week). And until I have checked the belts. Engine starts and runs well, but the 600 has worse NVH than the 1200. All five gears & clutch seem OK. Rear brake works surprisingly well. Over bumps the 30 year old Marzocchis are dreadful by modern standards, but handling is still good. The whole bike is too small and cramped for me really - would suit someone much shorter and more flexible. Once I have got the cosmetics looking half decent I may post pics.
Triumph did present the first Jubilee Bonneville to the Queen a couple of months ago but I think it has been raffled off for charity. Wills 1198 was destroyed by field mice in his rented farm on Angelsey whilst he was deployed in Afghanistan earlier in the year. The mice enjoyed eating the wiring loom and the bike would not go when he returned to Air-sea rescue.
A German soldier was quoted as: "We ran out of ammunition before they ran out of men" With tactics like that, how could they ever fail?!?!?!?!
I've done 30 miles in 5 hours .... 40 miles to go traffic still crawling! Given up gone to premier inn !!! I love the M25 and A12 !!! Yay!!
Hereford was a nightmare yesterday 40 mins to do a 5 min journey And they want to put a new shopping area in the centre of town and a new road linking the two busiest major roads into the city think we can add in another 40 mins to do the same journey
Been out on the Guzzi - it is feckin' chilly Must get the fuglystrada mot'd before winter really kicks in, but I'm off on the smash in Barcelona next week and that'll skint me out til next month. The poor old Ducati's not getting a look in at the moment:frown:
Just got my sons old TY80 to start after being stood for over two years. All it took was a new plug and "someone" to remember which is "run" and which is "stop" on the kill switch . Had a quick run round the garden on it, not a bad little bike. The dog started a chase me game, she loved it but we had to stop before four paws and two tyres destroyed the grass. My son`s not interested in bikes now (Phillistine!) so a bit more fettling and it`ll be up for sale. Couldn`t resist a quick dog on a bike picture
Today I have been mostly changing the wife's tyres from summer to winter, getting in the rest of the carrot harvest, and helping to plane the drawers of the chest of drawers I made. Over the summer the wood has moved and all the drawers were stuck (made to fine tolerances!). All working again now.
