What year? I need to do an exchange rate calculation plus I need ... oh yeah, a frigging time machine so I can spend it!
Had a long session in the pub today. Anyway, it taught me a lesson - never have sex after 10 pints. The reason? Well, just imagine playing pool with a piece of rope.
Yesterday was fairly busy at work with a couple of conference calls around the world, with a funeral of an old colleague in the middle of it all just to break the day up a bit Came home to find #2 son, wife and granddaughter and grandson had come to stay the night. So I was playing "dens" with my 3 year old granddaughter and feeding my 3 month old grandson most of the evening Today is gonna be full on nose to the grindstone with talks to overseas lawyers............yawn!! However I am planning on leaving the office bang on the button to go for a ride for an hour or three tonight
It's an omen. It means that the Germans are going to abandon the Euro and all the stupid states they have to prop up and return to the deutschmark where they will be the sole masters!
Commuted into London on the multi, then sent an email to the chief exec of Hackney Council and to MCN as they keep insisting on removing motorcycle bays and replacing them with a single pay & display car bay with a 4 hour max time limit. Stupidity beyond belief.
Latest traffic plans for London put cyclists at the top of the priority.Benefits of using motorcycles into and in London have been ignored.Quite a lot of good reliable info from Dr Leon Manning who does a lot of work and lobbying on our behalf.
Dear Mr Shields, I am writing to express my concern over the proposed removal of a motorcycle bay in the vicinity of my work. Since working in Hackney, you have withdrawn the right for motorcycles to park in non-motorcycle only bays. The proposal to remove a bay that is always full of motorcycles, and to replace it with a single shared usage bay with a maximum of 4 hours, seems to take so much from the commuting motorcycles that use the bay, to gain only one car the right to park for a duration that would not suit a commuter. There are already car parking bays along that road, and the resident bays that we are no longer allowed in, often have empty spaces. On a day like today with the tube strikes, commuting by motorcycle is the only means I have of both getting into work, and visiting our London customers and keeping our business running. The bay in New Inn Broadway also means that either myself or my colleagues can keep a watchful eye over my motorcycle, as thefts in London are prolific and causing us to park more and more remotely, only serves to boost this further. I am aware of other motorcycle bays a short walk away, but this does not ease my fears over security as you rarely provide bays with locks. Other bays also suffer from increased business use, with bays full of takeaway delivery scooters that remain idle for the majority of the normal working day. I do believe that business use of free motorcycle bays should be restricted in the number of vehicles they can park, but that is another matter. You should be encouraging the use of a mode of transport that can ease London’s congestion, by either reintroducing the ability to park in resident & permit bays, or by leaving what little space left we do require. I do hope the parking of approximately 6-8 motorcycles, should be of more importance to 1 congestion fee and parking paying car. I know that in the prior issues of your newsletter, there were more motorcycle bays in the firing line. I have CC’d in the motorcycle publication Motorcycle News, in the hopes of highlighting what is being done in London to further cater for fee paying vehicles, at the expense of the motorcycle.
