So what have you done today..?

  1. Glad you're safe, DB but not glad you had a shock.

I had a not similar incident years ago when the driver of a Vauxhall Astra, who could have used a roundabout safely, instead decided that the shortest distance between two points is through a motorcyclist (me).

Some folk have no more intelligence that they need in order to breathe.

  2. Thanks Loz
I was very relieved to be home

Some of the driving I see is unbelievable

  3. I was thinking its quicker to start unlike my Multi lol

  4. I see that sort of thing on roundabouts, slip-roads, everywhere. The first thing the driver thinks of when they are about miss or have missed their turn-off is veering off, stopping dead, barging through, whatever it takes to make that damned exit. And they act on that first impulse, without thought. It's like they are all fucking alone on the planet.

I sometimes think it's me, that I am wrong-headed. The first thing I think of if I've missed a turn-off is, bugger, now I'll have to find a suitable detour route or place to turn around & try again. Safety first.
Blimey, that's a good motto that, "Safety First". Think I'll copyright it, it'll be a sensation!

  7. The young guy in the garage was lovely to me I was telling him all about it and I was shaking and bless him he said did I need a coffee I said no then he asked if I needed a hug to which I cried and he gave me a big hug and a cup of coffee and wouldn't let me leave until I had recovered
Turns out he is a reiki master so we talked about natural healing etc
It's usually me doing the hugging and making people feel better doesn't it feel nice when someone does it for you
    He was a star :)

  8. See it all the time on the M5/M4 run, -indicator on , one blink and swerve in front of me, "I'm coming out and changing lane. What do you mean , there's no gap for me, I'm at least two feet in front of your front bumper, make room for me. It's imperative I pull out now"

'kin half wits , no sense of motorway speeds, half a ton of metal travelling at 88 feet per second. Brainless, and selfish.

There are some days one wishes for a small 88mm Howitzer mounted behind the radiator grille...and immunity.

  10. Talk about extremes :)

  11. Today the garage was referred to as "that fucking shed" so I spent a lovely day with the family in the woods making camps and eating ice creams and a little gardening. (And a bit more garage when nobody was looking).

  13. you would think after being awake for 24hrs and ridden 500mls you would want some kip wouldn't you? even tho it's a school night might have to smoke a night nurse.
well nothing like ridding with an unfamiliar group to make you feel like a pussy, so thankfully i didnt. i rod with elt instead. :Angelic::smile: around 300 mls of my favorite roads with a scrambler on me ass, tell you what if big straights are few and far between your neck of the woods you could do a lot worse than own one of them. plenty quick. good day good company crakin weather. all good. now wheres that night nurse.
sounds like you had a close one D.B.

  14. As @finm said above, today we spent the day riding some absolutely fantastic roads. Most of the Ducati Manchester group decided to head to Applecross for the day but Fin and I went off in our own :)

Fin took me to Lochgilphead, Tarbet, Oban, Strontian, Fort William, Tyndrum and back to Arrochar on some of the best roads known to man. Very little traffic, twistie and rolling like a twistie rolling thing and the tarmac was like a snooker table. And apart from the first 40 minutes this morning the weather has been glorious! 300 plus miles of awesomeness :upyeah:

Big up to @finm for a great day out, great company and for being Scotland's no.1 ambassador for the best biking roads ever! :)

Ps Some pics may follow if I manage to download them :p
