Rained here all day, and I was seething with frustration:frown: Just as well I skived off for a few hours on friday morning.
Said it was gonna be dry and sunny here.waited for the frost to clear then it rained and soaked the roads.sod it.better luck next time.
Walked round to my rented garage in anticipation of a sunny ride, did a little bit of polishing of my dirty wheels whilst my leathers and all the other bits warmed up in the sun . Struggled in to all my kit, pressed the start button and all I got was a pathetic little fart as the fuel pump struggled to cough into life. Bollocks! Out with the multi- meter, 7.8v showing across the battery terminals! Not to be defeated though, I quickly rigged up some jump leads from some gash cable, and jump started the little devil, took ages to get any heat into the tyres, but once they did I wrung it's neck to teach it a lesson. Must remember to push a newspaper down the front of my leathers though, bloody freezing!
Took my lovely new Multistrada out for a little spin. Left Shepperton at 8AM, arrived in Exeter at 11:30 had lunch at the Double Locks Inn then went to Dorchester, Ferndown, Southampton and up the M3 back to Shepperton. A nice little 350 mile jolly and the bike successfully run-in:biggrin:. Stunning weather with amazing views all day but praise be to Allah for Gerbings gloves!!
Not just any thermal underwear, but M & S thermal underwear!! I did get cold feet though as it only peaked at 5 degrees on the way down this morning. Gerbings heated gloves are the best bit of kit ever.
Decided to take a quick run up to Uppingham to buy a jacket from the good folks at Sycamores. 200 miles round trip n 3 tanks of fuel! Need to try and get better mpg! Spent 2 hours when I got home getting the salt n crap off the bike, looks like winter has arrived!
I've just managed to find a suit and iron a tie for tonight. I'm taking my lovely wife here The Orchid Restaurant - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - Asian Cuisine I can't see banga-anmash on the menu, or py zanpi's, so God knows what I'll end up eating
Stuck in the office today, but had a lovely time yesterday. Took the racing bike out for a pedal, them treated myself and KTM (she's called Kitten!) to a spot of breakfast down at the front in West Kirby. Ended the day with a quick canter round Delamere Forest on the nag. Bliss Oh to not have to work!!!!
I'm lucky to have the horses stabled nearby at my Aunt's farm. It is a lovely place. Was really great yesterday as the young horse behaved herself and didn't put a foot wrong. Made a refreshing change not to be galloping down the paths sidewards scattering OAP's and pushchairs willy nilly shouting "sorry"!!! Amazeballs!
As the sun was shining sunday morning ,took a deep breath , got the spanners out and attacked the multi , had a replacement gel seat for a while ,but been putting it off fitting it for a while , I could'nt believe how much needed to come off before I could lift the tank to fit it , but it did'nt rain and its on now.
Had a day buying stuff on the internet, too cold to go out ..................... Dog Clippers for the Airedale. Toilet cistern. Photograph frame. Wallpaper samples. Single mattress. Oh yes..... and a few bits from these guys Motocorse - Parti speciali Mv Agusta, Ducati e Bmw
Received confirmation that my ultralightweight trekking backpack has been shipped, finally. I'm so excited.
Pulled a spectacularly stupid Gordon Setter called Ruby out of the Leeds & Liverpool canal, after she mistook a raft of floating leaves for solid ground.....
One of the guys I work with had a black Labrador who jumped off Scarboro harbour, near the lighthouse, trying to get a seagull. The dog was on a lead and the lead was looped around my mates wrist. The dog enjoyed his swim, my mate was not so keen .
