  16. It's Carole's birthday in 10 days time so been out shopping for a present. Sadly but not uncommonly I'm not an imaginative man so practicallity is the order of the day. Whilst ideal for the upright riding position of the Diavel, her AGV Horizon is not suited to the NC29 making Paddock a double leap of faith when you can't quite see where you are going. Nice man in the shop gave Carole the opportunity to sit on a Blade whilst wearing a helmet to make sure that it fitted and she could see. Job done, now wrapping up a shiny new X-lite 802R in plain carbon. What Carole didn't see was the Furrigan race gloves she liked being slipped into the bag so hopefully that will be a nice surprise. Unashamedly looking for browny points but she knows me well. Andy

  19. I have just been watching a Leafcutter bee going backwards and forwards with precision cut pieces of leaf between our climbing rose and an insect box.The box is full of short lengths of hollow bamboo tube.I was fascinated watching how quickly the bee could cut a perfect orbitally shaped piece of leaf for its 'new build'.
I have also been amazed by the number of webs that have been constructed by spiders bungee jumping between shrubs and trees in the garden. Some of the points of contact are up to 10ft apart.Clever and resourceful little creatures with their stronger than steel silk.
